First time I ever could say wasn't really feeling these shots. But love your videos and tutorials. You guys do a great job!

Another Awesome video Karl. I loved your comment on, "dedication". I've often found myself laying on the ground to get the shot I want. Excited to see what you guys come up with next.

Was not sure if I was watching Carl Taylor or f-stoppers (Same music). Subject was slightly under-exposed in final image but I'm guessing you feel the same way. Awesome colours btw.

Awesome shot! Might I recommend to make the colours pop more. Camera colour temp tungsten and CTO gels on the strobes 👍

Wow, Urs nailed that jump fantastically! I believe there is some sort of color gel episode coming soon. Can't wait!

Excellent tutorial as ever. Particularly useful to me as a good 90% of my work is equestrian

Why did you choose to use the smaller para lights for such a large subject? Wouldn't the death star para given you better coverage and maybe softer light? I feel like the smaller ones are better for close up work like headshots. The images still turned out great, so I'm not being critical... just curious about how you decide which modifier is best.

Ahh there is a very good reason. They were all we had with us! :) I'm sure the Para 222 would have done a fine job but honestly it would have been over kill, in fact the two smaller paras would allow more contrast (revealing texture and contour) than the larger Para. Urs was using them in spot focus position to maximise the light output but this also increases the 'contrast' of the light.

I imagine giving a harder light with the smaller paras. And I also imagine easier to control from falling (if need be) from the wind in comparison to the larger para. Difficult shot indeed.

I guess like most strobes the Siros L loose a lot of power in HSS? If so, what about shooting with the Hasselblad ? Will the tracking be an issue, or was it done as part of the demonstration of the utility of the new trigger?

What lens were you using on the Canon, Karl? It looked like 24-70??

Question : when shooting a horse there are many angles what angle could get the best lighting
@ryemurky6 жыл бұрын
for jumping, I like a 'ten o'clock' positioning, with myself diagonally in front of the horse. Hope this helps!

jesus. shooting at 1/6000 and you still have to follow the horse with the camera? i would think at that speed you could turn a cartwheel while shooting. maybe with higher MP sensors the smallest movement becomes visible. interesting video.
