Odd, the first time Denver donned the redesigned orange and blue yet the helmet lacked the iconic "D" logo

The Narrator of this Broncos Highlight Films would narrate Bronco Highlights well into the 1980’s, the John Elway era.

Why no helmet logo on Broncos helmets in '67? Help me out here, Broncos fans.🏈

Yep. The initial iteration of the uniform change following the ditching of the bucking bronco helmet and uniform featured a blue helmet w/o the D. I've never heard the reason for no helmet logo in 1967, but it only lasted that one season which was, by the way, Lou Saban's first year. For the record, the Denver Broncos have worn six helmets in regular season play: -- In 1960-61 the seal brown helmet with a white numeral on each side. -- In 1962, first five games, orange helmet (basically, a Tennessee orange) with royal blue bucking caricature horse logo. -- From game six of 1962 through 1966, that same orange helmet with white bucking caricature horse logo. -- In 1967 the Broncos wore the new royal blue helmet, with no logo at all. -- From 1968-96 the Broncos wore the royal blue helmet with the familiar “D” and snorting Bronco. -- From 1997 to the present the Broncos continue to wear the navy blue helmet with the current Bronco logo.

@@myimorata7678 Wow, you definitely must be a big Broncos fan to know all the particulars & changes in Denver's uniforms from day one in 1960 till 2020. Or perhaps you're just a longtime fan of pro football like me that almost never missed a game on Sunday, whether it be the NFL or AFL. Whichever, you sure know your stuff on those Broncos. I am a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan, but most definitely watched all of it, starting basically in 1964. I pretty much know all of the Cowboys uni & helmet changes, give or take a jersey stripe or two here & there. I didn't know the Broncos changed their helmet logo horse colors like that DURING the season. They must have found a good deal at Earl Sheib Auto Painting Co. or something.😅 Thanks for the history lesson on the Broncos uniforms, my fellow pro football fan.🏈👋🏼😊👍

@@t4texastomjohnnycat978 Well, thank you, but I must admit I got much of this info from the old internet. Still, I grew up watching them. I watched Super Bowl XII in a bar in Omaha. I was in the USAF at the time. Where did you see it?

@@myimorata7678, yep the '60& '61 seasons' brown helmet was worn with both the mustard gold jerseys with brown numerals, and the white jerseys with brown numbers. The white numerals and white stripe on the brown helmet matched the "no gold to be found" even in its trim, white jerseys with brown pants and a white stripe, which was much better than the gold jersey, brown numerals' and pants with gold stripes, ones. And, the vertically striped gold and brown socks were not worn with the white jersey, but brown and white vertically striped socks were. The reason why they did not match socks and include gold trim on the brown numbers of the white jerseys, and they also had a white stripe on the brown jerseys with the white jerseys' ones, was that the original unis were not for one team, only. Both jerseys and pants were for two OPPOSING teams in a junior or small 4-year- colleges all star game called the COPPER BOWL. When the game went out of business, the jerseys were available. That is how the early Broncs pinched pennies..can you say cheap? Jack Faulkner as '62 head coach ordered new unis with the burnt orange of his Ohio childhood's favorite team: CLEVELAND. Instead, he was shipped a different shade of orange. I always thought the reddish- orange jerseys from '67- 77 were our best. After the orange crush '77-78 SBowl season, the demand was high and the reddish orange thread dye ran out and was hard to re- match up. So in '78, Denver wore conventional orange with white pants, breaking out the orange pants with the white jerseys before dropping the orange pants after the '79 or '80 season. Those orange pants were not as reddish-orange as the ones the Broncs wore on the road( AFL HOME always wore dark jerseys) from AFL '68 thru NFL 72.. All that info. was from my fashion consultant: MR. TACKLEWELL..

@@myimorata7678, yet the field had a blue helmet painted on it with the white nag- looking horse with a star for one eye all present in '67.. If they wanted no logo why did they keep the old one field-painted on the first season of the blue helmets? Did it just look better to have the logo on the field? Mebbbe so...
