‘I really like this guy,’ he (Sean Payton) told them (Broncos Scouts). And by then, the Broncos analytics staff backed up those feelings with hard facts. I’d heard from another team that the analytics had Nix as the draft’s most statistically impressive quarterback. Denver, clearly, saw it that way, too, based on what its own analytics director, Scott Flaska, was bringing back to the football brass… Payton, Paton and Penner by then knew where things stood on Nix. They also knew they had to keep it to themselves. So on the board in the Denver draft room, all of the quarterbacks were stashed on the bottom left corner, in no particular order, both to prevent any sort of bias in discussion and also, simply, to keep the brass’ secret… Enough people, by then, had connected the dots to where Denver had to be careful. Which is one reason why the Broncos stayed where they were at 12, resisting a trade back, and had mild concern that the Raiders could leapfrog them. Once Penix went at No. 8, that killed any idea of a trade down, since it took that option off the table for a Vegas group that had been linked to the Washington QB. Denver was locked in, fingers crossed that nothing would change.

I really don’t see why you don’t start Wilson and have Bo as a back up, Wilson wants to prove he should be starting quarterback for a franchise or at worst a trusted backup and now having a new head coach, new offensive coordinator, better o line etc, the Broncos can figure out if it was a case of the Jets failing him or he’s just not good no matter what, and if he’s not good, then start Bo in like week seven and let him finish the season

All I see is, blown coverage somewhere, a little luck. ONE good play. A 10play 61yard drive isn't as exciting, but WAY more impressive. That means the team drove down the field. They made MULTIPLE good plays, not just one.

As a lifelong Broncos fan who appreciates good football, I've watched Bo play extensively in college and in at least four games last season. I never walked away from those games hoping he would become a Bronco. However, I can definitely say that about a quarterback we recently picked up-he certainly fits the bill. Although he didn't play well at times, it's important to note that he was with the Jets, a team often criticized for poor management and struggling to develop young quarterbacks. AND HACKETT WAS HIS OC. My hope is that Sean views both Zach and Bo as rookies who need time to develop, and may the best QB win. Zach has the talent; I believe he just needs a good coach, and now he has one.
