The Les Schwab Tourney was always good. Show's people from around the country that we have some ballers in Oregon. Oregon High Schools can't recruit players, It's against the Bylaws. So you'll never see one singular team dominating on a national scale. Usually a high school is elite for a year or two, then those players graduate, and they have to start all over again. In a way, that's how high school basketball should be. But you'll never see powerhouse schools coming out of this State.

That's true for the public schools, but there are two large private schools in the Portland Area (Jesuit and Central Catholic) recruit for all sports and generally have a lot of success, but Oregon is a relatively small area by comparison. Players sometimes "transfer" to another public school, but that means they actually move and live in that school's area. I know of this happening, which may mean the family rents an apartment in that area for the school year.

@@erik5024 Not 100% true Erik. The Catholic schools in Oregon are not completely private entities. They accept funding from the state to supplement their general costs, which makes them partially public schools. This also makes them part of the OSAA; which also allows them to participate in organized sports with other public schools in the area. Oregon made a rule a long time ago that made it "illegal" for any school within the OSAA or any of it's employee's to recruit players. Source: I actually attended Marist Catholic, down in Eugene. I believe that's why he's not as aggressive in a lot of these games is because he's forced to be just a passer or to go stand in the corner. And to think they lost to 2 players everyone else on the other team was there for cardio, SC doesn't rotate good at all after 2 passes are made and the transition defense is terrible it was easy all game.

What a lot you aren't getting is these is 4 sides to basketball, scoring, rebounds, assist, and defense. He learning all the aspects of the game. You can have all the points, but still be weak at the other parts. He's learning the whole game, that way when he goes to the next level he'll be well rounded.

Bronny need to develop that killer instinct, he’s to passive. All the talent in the world to be great…

It’s hard to have killer instinct when the coach allows a junior number 2 to throw up 30 shots a game
@jwork9792 жыл бұрын
Your 100% right, all the other kids just throw shots up, selfishly not thinking of the team. Therefore Bronny should do the same thing especially if the coach isn’t gonna do anything about. It just goes to show Bronny character, he was raised the right way.

I think West Linn won because they played smarter. Nothing fancy. Just consistent layups. Not mention they put hella pressure on Sierra Canyon that they weren't used to. Coaching must have been way different. Bronny needs a better coach. 🤷🏽♂️

#1 was killing them. #2 from SC went what 3/30. Had he made half the shots he missed, SC would’ve won. Not to take anything away from the other team, cause they straight out played and out hustled SC.
