I always come to this video from time to time. To me it's like a destroyed world where everyone seem resigned or scared. But there's a person willingly facing hardship, fears, ego, sort of like a death of the self. Someone who knows deep down that they have to go through difficult situations and keep pushing, in order to learn, grow and become who they're really meant to be, their true nature: a light being. I love how at the end somebody who was looking from afar gets inspired by that transformation and decides to do it too, showing how only one person can still make a difference and change the trajectory.

Definitely a metaphor for life/love. We dress ourselves up to hide things we may not like but if we walk through the darkness towards the light, our true selves will persevere and we will be “stripped naked”, only to realize that we are /were the light all along.

Had to watch this a second time to realize that the light she’s fighting to get to is another person. And while shes trying to reach the “light” but when she realizes that the lights inside her she stops trying to reach it I personally believe it’s a metaphor that you can’t go looking for your happiness from others and that it can only come from your self

This video portrays about everyone & their darkness in our subconscious mindset. Anyone with having dark feelings such as depression, anxiety, fear, etc. Come across hiding in the shadows. But when a struck of light such as love, kindness, & compassion; we tend to feel it very strongly to the point it's an overwhelming hurricane/typhoon until we realize we must accept those feelings in order to give us hope on moving forward. A very metaphoric music video that gives such vibes. Well done BRONSON & ODESZA 🤙

This is what it’s like dying to yourself everyday as explained in Galatians 2:20 and wanting to be Holy as Christ was. We fight our old habits, depression, bad mindsets and so on. Sometimes we fall down but we keep looking up and seeing the beauty and power of Jesus. We start to change and the light and beauty of Christ starts to show in and on us. Finally reaching until we’re home and made clean with Him in heaven.

Odesza saved my life. I'm so glade I couldn't get their beat out of my head from a commercial. I didn't know them at all 6 years ago until that commercial played on my phone while stuck in traffic in downtown LA, Cali. I don't even remember the commercial. I searched everywhere looking for the song for like 2 years off and on. Bloom, that's the song that snatched my soul first by Odesza. They have pulled me out of some really shitty times. Odesza saves my life. Odesza is the essence & sound's of life . . .

i love all the people trying to decipher the video’s meaning. I feel like the ending shows the inspiration we pull from other people or our peers when we watch them find their own happiness from within. We all want to be happy we just don’t know how.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden; Nor do they light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand; And it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men.

I come back to this music video whenever my heart needs a loving reminder from within. I also love reading the comments on what the interpretation is. This video does an awesome job of nailing down this significance while maintaining an open structure for the visual and lyrical invitation. Paired with the audio feeling, this music video is like a crescendo of overcoming. For myself, when I watch and listen to this, I can't help but find the gold and black contrast meaning something along the lines of "identity". Perhaps the gold is what we carry with us that we value and the black is what we perceive to be our baggage. We find this "cloak" (mask) to be a necessity, and continue braving the light of the chaos. I find it interesting that the flashes of light are also what knocks them down when confronted. They crawl onwards while this cloak flashes between gold and black in the wake of whatever force is present. It is clear that there is some sort of struggle that must be met with the determination that not all possess (in that moment). With each defiant step towards the light, some part of this cloak breaks away, revealing light from within. To me, this inner light translates as capability, calmness, peace, and acceptance, and perseverance. Perseverance to keep getting up and not go back into hiding when it starts to push back. Acceptance in shedding not only our baggage but our ownership of accomplishments that we use to calibrate our perceived meaning in the world. Peace in knowing the very light that we are fighting against is part of us and is not to be feared when this fact is accepted and allowed. Calmness in being self originated. And last, of all, the ripple effect that we have upon each other. Every single being in this is implied to be able to accomplish this grand inner light and steadfast footing. All in all, we just have to go for it! Get up when knocked down, even when it feels we are being stripped. That cloak might just be the weight that we hold so dear and yet is what is holding us back. And so we continue, one after another, shedding and then embracing

The way I see it is I think the person is hiding from their strong feelings for someone. They are covered in a shield of lies. I think the gold pieces are the truth starting to come through. They try to face their feelings but the only way to do that is to shed the lies and fully embrace the truth. This love is so strong that I can no longer hide it. I will no longer follow along with being your friend. There is a chance our friendship will end, but what does it matter when the pain of holding it in is so unbearable?

Its self reflection, it speaks volumes of the ability we as humans have, the strength we hold even after so much we have been through, the warrior who doesn't give up, picks up the sword n is back again on his feet, pushing every limit which he wasn't even aware off, struggling to break through, eventually not needing the light anymore, relying on oneself, coz you as an individual become the "Light" and it breaks free your mind, it reflects the amount of potential your own mind & soul can stretch too & you make a difference coz there are others who follow ur light your guidance to reflect into their darkness 💭💫

I always seem to come back to this video and get it on so many levels. You keep holding onto everything you think is important and find resistance no matter how hard you cling to it. Only when you let go can you walk through the shit. You are no longer phased by anything when you are simply just you. Whatever that is. The person hiding can now see it’s safe to just let go too. It’s a story of love if you can get past the fear.
@suzannes40012 жыл бұрын
I ike the different interpretations. I've been loving this since it came out & for me it's literal & simple: She's obsessed & chasing a relationship that she knows is imposible and will most likely never happen. But she can't not; she can't stop. She'll keep going against anything; even when it strips her to the bone, to her most basic self. She will survive it & still come back and try again. Her howls of longing and pain are haunting.

The implementation from the song to the video is so perfect! A big fat respect to the creator! It takes a mass of fantasy for this solution. Giving the person a suit of good/golden and bad times and compromises she was holding on to, that was the only way keeping her there. Realizing u r the only person that can make u whole. My interpretation: I guess the wind is the braking up argumentation that is uncovering the golden times ("but don´t u remember what we have?" buhuuuhuu) while the flying parts are the verbal dirt, but holding on to the good/golden times is also holding on to the bad times, shown by the suit that is made like two sides of the same medal. So, bravo! Very artful! Love it!

One of the best songs and videos I have ever heard, it puts me in mind of Massive Attack; it is that great. The abstract, flailing post-human CGI video, the hypermodern production by the brilliant lau.ra and underneath it all, a soulful, melancholy thing of beauty and a metaphor for life’s struggles. I find it incredibly moving. As for ‘Wicked’.... by lau.ra... wow! So what’s the rest of the BRONSON album like?

Here I am, analyzing this video as much as possible, this is what I get from it: Sometimes, the things we think are beautiful hide our true beauty. Those things may hold us down and hold us back from what is truly beautiful. They could also be things you believe you need, but without it you might shine brighter than you thought you could. It may be hard getting rid of those affections, but when you do you will see the light within. And, along that journey, you might inspire someone. I know I have some dirty rags I need to let go off in order to shine. Its gonna be hard, but I have to try.
