Right... the one thing I don't like about BtM is Jim continuously zig-zagging between staying open and picking good cards, and committing super early. Some drafts, he ends pack 1 with only cardsbin one color. Other drafts, he decides which archetype he will be based on 3 cards.

Even if the first eagle was the only white card he took it wouldn't have changed the deck list.

I can agree that with hindsight it's a slightly better deck, but I don't think it was a mistake to go down the red path. (Like if we see the ur signpost instead of the second eagle we are much happier as red than white)

BELIEVER. Big Fin Bouncer has been amazing against me, and with 2 terrors and a Kaito to sneak them through, it has what it takes. The red splash looks suspicious, not going to lie, but I think you have enough velocity to make it through your deck (and the black splash is a perfect win-condition, so I would keep that one).

Things learned this draft: -Elemental Adept is pretty terrible, having 4 isnt good haha -Tolarian Terror is pretty terrible -Mocking Sprite is pretty terrible -Think Twice also felt a bit meh in this, it feels like the flashback should have been 2 mana rather than 3, not terrible but not great either. -Consuming Aberration sort of seemed bad too, the only time we played it it was a 5mana vanilla 2/2... And i think if we played it any other game it would have been similar. ...Kaito was probably good, shame we only saw it once despite drawing a bazillion cards. -Holding up Red+X will definitely make people play around Sure Strike haha. That one opponent played around it the whole game and then Jim did the same later in the draft. -Uncharted Voyage seems good (those 4 mana tuck spelle usually are).

I played the aberation in UB and it seemed good in theory. Only for some bizare reason the 8 times it triggered for me there was a land o top 7 times and 2nd from the top the remaining one. It was pretty dumb

Non Believer. While not as open as it could have been, white seems like it would have been a great second colour especially since you could have taken the Hawk pick 2. And Consuming abberation, while cool, fits a different style of deck compared to all your picks from pack 1 - I would have leaned into more red removal. Hoping to be wrong, since the brew does seem fun!

Non believer blue white flyers really works well with kaito. Burst lighting is a good card. But you just want a bunch of guys and white has so many cheap white cards that you can get in with early

p1p5 i think you gotta move into white at this point. savor is soo much better than everything else here, white is clearly very open. its sucks you already passed a ton of white but think twice is just ok. so id just take the savor and see if white continues to be open. if not your not losing out on a ton.

That was just bad drafting. Taking burst lightning 2nd then never committing to red made no sense. U/W flyers would have been insane. You have to commit to colors faster. You’ll be like late in the 2nd pack and be like well I’m still gonna stay on color. Make a decision!

Non-believer, tolarian terror isn’t great and becomes even worse when you’re having think twice. You’ll probably beat down a few opponents who play badly but this is a 0-3 deck. I don’t understand why you didn’t jump into UW flyers

Non-believer. I think this format needs big end stuff and the dragon was a reasonable outlet. I do think this is consistent to get many wins, but will run the risk of getting run over by grindier decks and things with bombs. In my experience Sprites are bad, just a very weak body. And that's the general trend for blue but that's one of the most egregious examples.

I'm 3 picks in and yelling at you to not lock into Red-Blue based on one 1mana red spell, which looks exactly what you are going to do. Dragon Trainer is good, but you're talking as if you're definitely not white and definitely are red, which is odd after only 2 picks.

Okay, fortunately red was cut and blue was open so that deterred you somewhat, but you probably shouldn't have even been considering locking in that early. Blue-white or Blue-Black might have been better, but mono blue splash is sort of interesting. Non believer still cause I don't know what to think of it hahaha, but I hope you do well! My first ever draft deck was mono blue, but that's just because I had no idea how to draft, so I sort of forced it.
