I use one thing for beading, sewing, murals, etc. the very most......painters tape. Been doing all sorts of stuff for 60 years and when they came out with that I grabbed it up for temporary any thing. It's great for marking margins on you sewing machine. Straight edges on a painting. Making dolls. But what I have found is beading it seems to work incredibly well. When I was teaching my granddaughter how to bead I gave her a roll for holding strings or sections of beads temporarily. She uses it all the time. The knot in this project could be held in place for a beginner till they get the hang of holding it with thumb and for finger. Learning beading is tense and that allows the student to concentrate on what they are doing until they learn it. Not trying to be a know it all. Just a suggestion.

I use wildfire with size 12 needles all the time. You just have to smash the end of the thread between a pair of flatnose pliers. The thread is round so it doesn't fit well through the oblong eye of the needle. if you smash it down it fits well.
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry6 жыл бұрын
+VirgoMoon9675 Yes I use a flatnose as well. Could be my needles have a particularly small eyes 🌻😊
@jenblunt36046 жыл бұрын
VirgoMoon9675 I always run the tip of the thread through my fingernails!!
@jerseyMACgirl6 жыл бұрын
I sometimes do that too. However, I do find that it can sometimes cause the thread to bend or curl a little bit where as using the pliers keeps it nice and straight. That being said, either method will help get that thread through the needle.

As usual a beautiful design. I’m not sure if I’m the only one not getting this but I wasn’t sure how many beads to start with. I figured if the bracelet is 7 inches and the beaded portion is 6 inches (with an inch for clasp) and you said to add another 1-1 1/4 inch to each side, I should make it about 7 inches. So folded in half it would be 3 1/2 inches. So at 13 beads per inch I add 91 beads. Is that correct or am I completely off? Thank you again for a beautiful design!
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry6 жыл бұрын
+Louanne Fournier You’re right on track Louanne😊 Hold the knotted piece around your wrist to make sure your fit is good. The numbers are good but how it looks around your wrist is better. There is room for adjustment by loosening or tightening the knot.
@elizabethmoreno21204 жыл бұрын
So what happens when you make the bracelet too short, any way to add or just find someone with small wrists? It is 5.5 inches before I add the clasps. Thank you, I love this design.

Hi Stephanie! I bought the green Wildfire thread a while ago so it would be less visible and as I was beading, the color stripped off! Haven't used it since, but now, so many beaders are using it, I'm wondering if I just got a defective roll. I guess if no one else is having this problem, it was just me! 😕. By the way I contacted Hillary to order a mat. She's super nice!! Thanks for the tip! 😊
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry6 жыл бұрын
+Anna Centanni I had that happen once when my needle eye was too small for the thread. The needle scraped the top layer. I use a size 10 or 11 Pony beading needle with Wildfire. I use 6lb Fireline with a size 12. I love RingBerries mats! Super colors and quality. Hillary is great🌺
@angelinaneau14276 жыл бұрын
Anna Centanni, I do not know where you purchased the thread, however, you can tell them what happened and they should send you a replacement. I have had my Fireline replaced from the manufacturers themselves. I hope that this helps.

Did I miss it - how many 8/0s do you start with on your thread?
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry2 жыл бұрын
I might redo this video to make it easier but until then, this is what i did. I used a measurement not the amount of beads to start. So you'll use your bracelet size and add about 1 1/4 inches to accommodate the knot in the center. You are going to fold each of pieces over and knot them together. I explain it in the beginning of the video. So if my bracelet size is 7 inches with a clasp (6 inches of beading and 1 inch for clasp), I'd make two pieces 6 inches long. Add about an inch or 1 1/2 inches to each piece to accommodate the knot. Folded over and knotted you should have close to six inches. The clasp adds the rest.

patty Welsh You mean the thread? There are about 13 - 8/0 seed beads to an inch. Multiply 13x the number of inches of your bracelet minus about an inch for the clasp. Add about 10-15 extra beads to each thread to accommodate the knot. That being said, you must also hold it around your wrist as you sew to fine tune the fit. I hope this helps😃

+rose gaither Thank you rose🌺 Wildfire is a thermally fused beading thread made by Beadalon. It comes in a few diameters and lb weights. I use the .006 inch 0.15 diameter in Black for most beading projects. Check out Beadalon’s website for more info. The best thing about it is the color doesn’t come off on my fingers🌻 It’s alsoa bit stiffer than Fireline. I still use Fireline as well.
