STEPHANIE ..these are lovely..when are the pieces you make not spectacular. I've stumbled across an idea that might be an option to the pin backing. Small round magnets, glue one of the round piece to the brooch and the other is free to place on the underside of the garment. This way no holes in our fancy and often times expensive clothing. At one of our board meetings this is what they did for our name tags.

The magnets are also used to hold the number signs on people’s clothing at horse shows. You need to use the really strong magnets

Your broach is beautiful. It is just in time for Mardi Gras. Those are the colors for Mardi Gras. Of course, your broach can be worn anytime. But when I saw your colors it reminds me of Mardi Gras. It is absolutely beautiful. I just can’t keep up with you. Every time I watch you, you have created something new. You inspire me to be creative and do more.

What a beautiful piece! As always, your colors are spectacular! I'd like to offer a bit of a recommendation for your bead embroidery process. Ditch the glue and start using double sided tape. Not the kind that you'd get in the stationary store, but the kind you'll find in craft or hardware stores. It comes on a roll with one side that peels off, so all you are laying down is adhesive. I've even used the double-sided tape I've gotten in the craft section of the Dollar Tree store. Glue is an overkill because you're sewing the sections of backing together and there's no overrun with tape, no waiting, no mess. You can trim it perfectly. The only trick is getting the backing off - and you can do that with the point of an X-Acto knife or a regular sewing needle. I hope you try this and find it as much of a game changer as I have.

Stephanie here's a tip, on the edges of the stiffy cut the edges on a curve it prefents the thread from snaging. I hope this helps, love the video I'm going to make one as a pendent

You could add a twisted herringbone chain on either end. Sew it to the existing edge beads to start it off.

Absolutely beautiful. Can you tell us the dimensions as I don't wear brooches and was wondering if it's too wide or long to turn it into the center of a bracelet. Thanks!
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry9 ай бұрын
The brooch is about 1 3/4 inches wide and about 3/4 inch tall.

Oh boy….my hands are itching to try. Feel a bit like Pippi Longstocking: I never did this so I think I can….
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry9 ай бұрын
Go for it! Pippi is right there with you 😆 It’s not difficult because we are beading the component first. So there’s just a small amount of beads that need to be sewn on the backing. Perfect for a beginner 🌸
