I love that you don't use glue. No shame to crafters who do, it is quick and easy. I personally dislike it for three reasons. 1) I like being able to reuse/repurpose pieces which is easier to do when they are sewn, not glued. 2) If I make mistakes or changes mid project stitches can be removed cleanly. 3) Sewing is better for longevity and multiwear projects.

I am a former NY-er, married to a New Orleans (Katrina 2005 survivor) guy..we live in the Upper Pontalba in the French Quarter. So, anyway, now I am retired from the 9 to 5, and have revisited my lifelong love for needlework...Hubby had a storage unit across the river, and it is jammed with things like vintage (pre 1980) dead-stock denim, bark cloth from the 1950s, remnants, from his first wife and her sister, they should both rest in peace. Anyway, thus far in two years? I have made pillows out of re-purposed lace, denim tote bags accented w/ bark cloth, and one of a kind ethnic dolls...none of this requires a pattern. Just good eyesight, a large table, patience, and quality scissors. My latest is a resurrected (seriously) Quasimodo doll. I have a pattern which I eyeballed from looking and penciling, for a vest for him. Allowing or that pesky hunch, don't ya know. Love your channel. I am new..but swearsies, will be stopping by again real soon...cheers from the SkyCave!!

Your videos have been so awesome for me! I have been realizing I not only had everything to create these kinds of embroidered pieces, but how much I enjoy playing with color, materials, etc. I followed one of your beaded bugs first, using similar materials, and then progressed to making more using different materials like silk thread, thin shell beads, and figuring out how to mount them on plaques. Thank you for the inspiration to create something new!
