Lisa that was a GREAT VIDEO. you explained the difference between highlighting and contour excellently! I know I always was wondering what’s what but I think the way you said it’s basically the tools/brushes we use is so key! Your video explained itsooo well. And of course if you don’t use the correct brushes the job won’t be perfectly done. So Thank you Lisa. I love ❤️ everyone of your videos!!! I know it’s not easy to make a video but you make it seem easy and I can tell you ❤️ your job! Thank you Thank you. Once again I understand everything you taught us. Hi Lisa. I am so glad you did this video. I have never used bronzer because I'm afraid to look too orange but I think bronzers are so much better now that you can find many that aren't that orangey color. Thank you for explaining the placement of the bronzer and the difference between the colors of the bronzer and contour. I don't need to contour because I have a very thin face( I'm 64 years old) but I sure think I need bronzer this time of year. I ordered your BK Beauty makeup brushes recently and love them. I got the 101 and 103 a few days ago and placed an order for the 105 & 106 yesterday. I want to get the set of eye makeup brushes next. Your videos are great, so informative and really useful tips. Thank you.

Lisa, I hope I'm not doing too much. I wear all three on the daily- but I use a very light hand. I have a roundish face shape. I do my contour exactly as you've shown & make sure it is well blended. I then do my bronzer, I use Two Faced Bronzed Peach which I love as it is a perfect color for my fair skin & very blendable. I do that E bronze & across my nose- after watching you is this the best way to bronze a round face? I lastly use TF So Peachy blush. All of these I blend well. Zero harsh lines, & I use TF Born this Way setting powder to set the whole mess & away we go followed by a dewy setting spray so I don't look powdery. But with this long, long story I still like a skin like look!?! But again, I have a roundish face shape so to me it just doesn't look good without contouring a little bit. I love your teaching methods, so informative & so much info.💜💚💙

Hi...I just wanted to say that Lisa also has a round face so watching her is very useful to you if you also have a round face shape. I love the way bronzer and blush look when both are used. I personally don't need/want to contour all the time because my face is more oval shaped, but doing all three is totally fine. I know you want Lisa to answer, but I read your whole comment and just wanted to share that with you!
@dmallen4694 жыл бұрын
@@Danielle-qy7ey No that's fine that you did, Danielle! I will continue to use all three as I have it down pat!🤣 It takes no longer doing it & I use a very light hand. I am very fair so I use colors for the fair skinned out there. Thanks again for your input, it is always good in my opinion to get expertise from others & I appreciate you greatly.💜💙💚

Lisa, how long should we keep make up. I am not using as much make up these days as I use to. I was laid off last year and now the only time I put make up on is when I go to the hair salon, doctors office, friends gathering or date night with hubby. My Urban Decay eye shadow palette looks almost new, I can't bare the thought of tossing it after 6 months. I try to wash my brushes every time I apply make up or almost every time. What about lip sticks, foundations, concealers, creme blushes. I have so many products that I rotate and use different shades, products for different occasion. Day time looks being different than date night looks. Thanks again about the difference between contour and bronzers. I think I knew that but you filled us in with a lot more information.

@lisajmakeup4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! i am glad you liked it! :) Its described as a contour ... some shades look more cool but online there are a couple that look warmer. A good rule of thumb for me is if its got orangey or a lot of warmth,.. definitely a bronzer. It doesn't have to be super cool to be a contour but if its warm its not ideal for contour

Love this video. I'm so tired of everyone "contouring" and using bronzer for this purpose only. Yes, it has it's time and place. But, gah! Does anyone use a bronzer as an actual bronzer anymore?! I always get so disappointed with watching a beauty influencer on KZbin and they say it's time to apply their bronzer and how much love bronzer and then they use it to contour with. I love to actually wear my bronzer as a bronzer to get a nice touch of a sun-kissed color and glow. Although, I admit, it's sometimes hard to think when I'm applying it that I'm doing it wrong because all I see are people using bronzer (not even cool toned bronzer) as a contour. Just gotta fight that feeling and turn myself in a bronzed, not contoured, beauty.

Lisa, please can you recommend a primer without alcohol in it! I was going to try Charlotte Tillbury's brightening youth glow but somebody said it stung her face and it has alcohol in it. I have never got on with primers before, but have lately started using an eye primer (it's a cheap one, but my eye make lasts a little longer). I quite like the idea of a tinted brightening primer and then just a little bit of make up where it's needed. But any primer I've tried has felt like SLIME and then the make up rolls off the slime surface. I don't understand. Maybe I've been unlucky in the past. Or I've tried to put on too much make up. All make up artists talk about primer like it's obvious and simple. If primer is supposed to be such a good base for foundation, why does my foundation go on worse if I have tried to wear primer?

Great informative video. Can you please do one for us thin angular face gals that don't need contour but need more volume in our face? I don't think I have ever seen this addressed in any video? Could you also include the more hollow sunken in eyes, because I feel its redundant to put darker color in my crease when I my crease already seems to dark. Do I put then instead lighter color there? I know to use highlighter on tops of cheeks, temple area and chin but I don't want to look all sparkly either? Is there a product for creating volume other than highlighter? Sorry for all the questions but like I said I have never really seen this addressed.
@lisajmakeup4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vicki! These are great questions! And you are right on! Yes, I wouldn't put darker mattes in a crease if its already a deep crease.. I would go for lighter shades, either matte or something with a little sheen. And you are right on putting highlighter on areas to create more volume but that doesn't have to mean shimmer.. you can do a matter lighter powder or use a lighter foundation in that area. It will brighten and give a subtle natural highlight without the shimmer.
@vickinparadox4 жыл бұрын
@@lisajmakeup Thank you so much Lisa, Its good to know that I am on the right path. I will look for lighter matt for volume on my face, with no sparkles and apply lighter shades in crease. Would still love to see a video on application and products for this problem. Love your videos, thank you again

I've tried using cooler contouring products before, but it seems like any time I do, the product looks very purple to red on my skin and not like a cool brown. Even a warm bronzer looks more natural because cool tones seem to always end up looking dirty and muddy on me. I'm wondering, are the rules maybr different for olive skin? Or should I keep trying different cool toned products until I find something that works?
