Haight's Wanderings

Жыл бұрын

Snow, rain, high water, & cold. All the wonderful conditions thrown at us and we STILL managed to get on some beautiful trout. New spot and tons of fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!
In respect of local anglers I do NOT name any river/stream that I fish. Please respect my "no-name" policy and do NOT post the names of any spots in the comments. Thank you for understanding!
Leave a message or a question below! I love responding and communicating with fellow fisherpeople, adventurers, and wanderers.
Thanks for all of your support, Haight's Wanderings

@Ace Michael Be forewarned - the rivers are flooded. This weekend will be bad, probably. Hard to tell but the foot or two of snow that fell is melting and we have more rain coming. Stay safe.

Oh to be young again. Paddling upstream. Those were some dandy trout. Usually lucky to catch one A-day over 12 inches and you caught how many. I'll be heading up that way in a couple of weeks. Going to finish up turkey season here in Indiana. I can barely wait.

@Tim Jones I definitely felt it in my body the next day... I am glad we got out that day too because it's a full blown winter storm today.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. I love the rivers too. I didnt make it out for trout opener. I went for walleye in the maumee. Tomorrow im going to try my first good attempt at fishing for some hatchery browns. Its a tiny stream with not many good reports but its my only local option. Going to be a good place to practice regardless and its one of the more beautiful spots by me.

@kevinkubed7683 Cool - walleye sounds fun! I never get a chance to target browns so that sounds fun too. Good luck!

You guys earned those brookies, some real beauties. Got the pictures and released them quickly, well done. I personally got skunked on the opener, but I didn't really try that hard.

@Barney Ewing Absolutely, Barney. I love the pretty ones - I'd prefer smaller ones with more vivid colors than the larger ones that are dull. But, honestly, they are all beautiful to me!

Another great video Benjamin. Loved the upstream paddling to get to the trout waters. July cannot get here soon enough for my trip to the U.P. to utilize your guide services.

Looks about as cold and wet as my opener was hahaha. I was up your way kinda actually. Rivers were super blown out where I was and got worse as the weekend progressed. Steelhead, a sucker, a few brown trout and when the river was too high to fish safety, we went out of Munising and caught a limit of tasty coho. Good weekend I guess minus the water levels. Anyways, nice brookies you got into for sure. Tight lines 🤙

@trout_bum_john. It was so nasty but I was so happy to get something. The high water was tough. Glad you got some!
