The blame should also be more on Lucas. He pursued Peyton while being with Brooke. Everyone hates on Peyton but Brooke and Peyton’s friendship was way toxic before. Also the second time peyton and Lucas kissed she had a bullet in her leg. Brooke in high school was very insensitive, but had great development in later seasons. Lucas and peyton kind of stayed the same, i think they were meant to be.

Brooke was doing the most. She wiggled her way to steal Lucas from Peyton and claimed him as her boyfriend right away when Peyton and Lucas clearly had something going on which they didn’t fully explore or didn’t fully put a stop to it. There feelings were still there for one another and for Brooke to make a move on Lucas while Peyton was taking time to process her feelings and commitment that Lucas wanted from her Brooke sneaks in and complicates everything. Everyone forgets that when Peyton first changed her mind in wanting a relationship with Lucas she first called him and the call happened during Brooke and Lucas first date when playing pool. The next day Brooke tells her that her and Lucas kissed and you can see on Peyton’s face that news was a gut wrench right in her stomach. Later that night she then goes to Lucas house since he didn’t return her call or spoken to her. Everyone has a blame for the love triangle being so messy.

Wow, to those hating on Peyton obviously forgot how Brooke actually slept with Nathan from that infamous sex tape waaay before she inserted, herself in between both Peyton and Lucas knowing full well they both had feelings for each other and she still hooked up with him anyway. Get real and stop trying to put all of the blame on Peyton. Brooke started the betrayal long before Peyton and Lucas did,plus she had the nerve to make fun of Peyton's biological Mother's passing. In case you hadn't noticed, Brooke grew up without her Parents being there whereas Peyton was adopted by good Parents who were there for her and without saying it, Brooke was jealous of her own best friend for that very reason. The difference was Nathan and Peyton were broken up where as Lucas and Brooke both times were together and both ended up cheating on Brooke pretty much all the damn time. Brooke had her faults but she kept striving to be better whereas Peyton it was always the crying victim game. Regardless Brooke deserved so much better than Lucas.

Brooke already knew how Peyton felt about Lucas and she didn't care about anyone but herself then. When Peyton was attacked by Fake psycho Derek, Brooke didn't even bother to check how Peyton was doing. How do you even have the nerve to even make your comment when you know damn well what Peyton went through. Peyton always felt remorse and cared about Brooke's feelings whereas Brooke didn't care at that time when they were in high school. They got back together the next day after Brooke slept with him behind Peyton's back. Brooke never came forward with her betrayal and yet Peyton did the 2nd time she just kissed Lucas and she actually felt remorse whereas Brooke knowing what she did years before, still had the nerve to come off as a victim herself and pretend that she didn't do anything wrong to Peyton when she actually did. Brooke in high school was a selfish self-centered person who even stole the answers to a calculus test that got Haley fired as a tutor. Brooke's mistakes when compared to Peyton's were much worse.
