What a room! I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Lived there until I was about 20. I'm 63 now and much has changed. The apartments have been modernized, but some of what I remember remains. Those wood floors are just as I remember them. The radiators. And even the "mouldings" on some of the walls in some of the buildings. It's really a treat to see that some of these apartments have much of the same "feel" as they did, even if modernized and renovated probably many times.

Jen Tuesday yeah, it cost more or less 30$ to get to manhattan and 30 min, so that means 60 $ per day and you will work 20 days, so you will at least spend 1200$ per month in Uber just to go to manhattan. 1500+1200= 2700$. And if you are young and don’t have girlfriend you don’t need much space so is better to get a roommate

Done LOTS of commuting in my career (now retired), and what I can say is "get as close to your work (and/or available transportation)" as you can afford. Time is precious! Don't waste it sitting in traffic, on the subway/train. Unless there's a higher order need (i.e., school quality for kids), pay more and stay close. BUT, this is a beautiful apartment. I'm sure it rented quickly. Thanks, again, CJ for keeping us informed on the rental market in NYC.

I Live alone in Dyker Heights Brooklyn (once considered old Italian neighborhood) 6 family building , A small 750 sqft two bedroom apt one bath , rent stabilized been here 10+ yrs. I currently pay $1,125. 2 block from express D & N line train New Utrecht Ave station (45 min door to door commute to lower Manhattan), corner deli on my block, dunkin donut my chase bank and super market 3 blocks. I feel like I hit the lotto every day. My previous neighbor who moved out after living in her apt for 20+ yr paid $1000 and after she moved the landlord raised the rent to the new tenant to $1500 which is the average price for the neighborhood. Landlord is desperately waiting for the old tenants to leave haha.

Oooooh this is an early Cash Tour! When did you get your measuring tool? I can’t comprehend the sizes because I don’t know the footage 🤨 But this is an actual stunning apartment! It looks sooo big! I could fit 2 walls of floor to ceiling bookshelves in that massive living room and maybe even kind of split the room in 2 to make a library/living area. There’s room for a table by the window in the kitchen and the bedroom too could fit my big high bed (with under bed bookshelves) Nice beginnings Cash 👍🏼🤩
