Traditional Irish fiddlers generally don't go to sessions with sheet music. Part of the tradition is memorizing the basic structure of the tunes not just to the mind, but most importantly: the heart.

It's rare that a marriage of Irish Traditional and classical music works. I think this lot might have cracked it. I would say, though, that it depends on having musicians that are both intimately familiar with their own genre and have a very good understanding of the other.

Um, wow? While I had the honor of hanging with Martin Hayes maybe 20+ years ago in Ann Arbor (back in a previous life as a fiddle player's wife), I sort of shunned trad Irish music as part of the fallout from that disastrous phase. That fat old X could never ever ever hope to play with such discipline and soul. We were having a lovely nice lunch and a chat. And Martin sat there aghast, as X literally destroyed a huge meaty sandwich in, like 8 minutes. As was his wont.
