A lot of musicians play this song on all sorts of musical instruments and I think it's because everyone can relate to the song in their own way secretly. Everyone has their own demons about themselves. This is a great version of this song and I've listened to it at least 20 times already!

Listening to this over and over while contemplating what is the sole purpose of my life in this world…lost my younger brother to suicide and father to a terminal illness…I’m fifty now and have accomplished and experienced many things, good and bad..Not feeling hopeless but needing direction..Listening to this masterpiece somehow gives me a reason to continue searching for whatever will be my nirvana

We had an awesome time working with our friends from the Escher Quartet for this video. (Some of you might recognize their cellist, Brook, who sometimes plays with Patrick's band Break of Reality and appeared in their Game of Thrones video.) These guys are world-class musicians and we were so glad they had time in their busy schedule to record with us! (Check out their website for tour dates: www.escherquartet.com). And make sure to watch their incredible Schubert performance on our Brooklyn Classical channel!

so I'm in choir, I've done my whole life, with choirs of various sizes. I'm not usually reminded of the feeling of doing an intense song in a group of 200+ people, but this video and music honestly made me feel that same sort of dramatic passion. my choir performed Sleep by Eric Whitacre recently, and it was so hard to come down from after performing. heart rate was still going crazy, just from the thrill of not performing, but the music itself. eight or more entirely different parts coming together to rhythm and harmony. I'm glad that feeling is universal through all performed music.
