Not to Politically Correct but Native Americans ARE White People. They're from the Eurasia. The only reason why they're a considered a separate race is because they have a sun tan which made them dark. Come to think of it, White People who don't have Native Heritage must have East European Features which is why they think they're Native American

@@mrj.kottari8453 Exactly, there is no such thing as ethnic appropriation or even ethnic identity. The majority of people are mixed race and even the majority of cultures are mixed race. Things like whitewashing or blackwashing shouldn't be a big deal. But what can be a big deal when producers remove or replace white characters just because people want will complain about diversity. Especially when it's towards reboots and remakes. Why cant producers just create their own series with their own characters? Like seriously, they always have to target a franchise that already has established characters. You know what I mean?

Colonialism and Exploitation was obviously wrong but it is also not as simple as people think. Millions died from diseases like smallpox brought by European settlers- but they had very basic knowledge on this so to describe it as deliberate 'genocide' is highly flawed Native American Nations were not always harmonious or humane to each other either. I think it is patronising that people think they were. And to the people saying this is racist- Family Guy makes fun of EVERYONE

We have evidence of mass graves, brutal tribe-on-tribe genocides, and intra-tribal feuds that resulted in wholesale slaughter of one tribal group by a sister tribal group after relations presumably soured. No, they were not always harmonious or humane to each other.

Most of wasn't deliberate but there are accounts of Europeans deliberately giving out infected blankets once they figured it out. Genocide was inflicted on natives, the main issue surrounding it is that it isn't fully recognized as a genocide. You are right about the tribes, the Iroquoian in Canada constantly went to war with their neighbors murdering, stealing and pillaging, that's not even taking into account the way they lived, it's a huge myth to assume they were in harmony in nature, they just moved to a new location and returned to the depleted site a decade or two later, by then the land had healed itself.

The fact they let the land heal in itself shows a degree of harmony. Elephants make dirt paths and wolves feast on wildlife needed to keep down plant growth but both creatures never do more than what's needed. So many excuses seen to make what occurred towards the Native Americans more acceptable.

"American Indian" is hardly accurate. It came from a misconception that they (Columbus) had sailed across the Atlantic all the way to India, and believed the people who lived on the unnamed land mass to be Indian. "Native American", while more accurate can be misconstrued by people such as +Redneck322 who in a sorry attempt to discredit someone using the incorrect definition of "Native". In the case of 'Native Americans' we are using a version of 'Native' meaning 'of indigenous origin or growth', synonymous with 'aboriginal' or 'indigenous'. To be blunt, however, the most accurate term to describe those who are North American Natives would likely be simply "Aboriginals"

I’m just realizing this now, but Stevie and Brian giving a group of natives modern day guns would have absolutely no effect on the future. They gave them both AK47s and AR15s, which are both automatic (or at least the AK is, depending on what kind of AR Stevie gave them) rifled chambered in intermediate cartridges. They only gave them at least a magazine’s worth of ammo per weapon and nothing else. Firearms require a lot a maintenance, and the natives received no materials to carry out said maintenance. They wouldn’t be able to reverse engineer the weapons, as they would require advanced manufacturing tools to create. And even then, there’s no way that they would ever be able to replicate the AR15, as it used a large amount of refined aluminum, which until 1889 was EXCEEDINGLY, MIND-BOGGLINGLY, HIGHER-THAN-THE-PRICE-OF-GOLD rare. That whole thing just kind of bothered me. The jokes were funny tho

It might be enough for a single offensive to kill all the Jamestown settlers, but the pilgrims would still show up in present-day Massachusetts 13 years later, so you're right, they couldn't maintain a few guns for 13 years or spread the technology from present-day Virginia to Massachusetts in that amount of time. The pilgrims would still succeed in kicking off English colonization

They were not. Gunpowder was not such a table turning discovery as you seem to think. Europe was always one (maybe even two or three) steps ahead of the rest of the world. Even during Medieval times it was a force to be reckoned with thanks to the way new weapons and armor were developed, all thanks to the continuous wars the great nations fought amongst each other. Gunpowder is held in such regards only because it was the main thing used in battles during the Age of Exploration and beyond. One single powerhouse of Europe would have been enough to defeat a population such as the Native Americans, even if they were united. Just think for a second what a charge of the heavy cavarly could do to the ranks of an Indian army. A tomahawk or bows and arrows would not even dent a plate armor.
@Tanzenergise

humanity is stubborn, no culture is ever united until a bigger threat rolls through. even then people will still be stubborn enough not to unite. the natives fought against each other the same reasons the rest of the worlds fights each other, food, hunting grounds, territory etc. saying "oh the natives were all happy sunshine and rainbows before the white man showed up" is just bullshit. the colonists diden't start shit they just added to the pile

I am sorry but their land? The US obtained this land by either direct conquest, or by negotiations with tribes or other countries making it the US's land. Just because some one else owned it at one point doesn't make it theirs. Should we give all of the land Napoleon conquered back to France because France owned it or just give all of the land previously owned by the Romans or the Germanic tribes that the Romans took it from. Land doesn't belong to one person or group of people simply because they live there but to who ever has the power to take and hold it whether that is military power or economic power.

Oh yeah so that's make everything that happened when the Europeans came in justified. Not. Seriously people said the same thing for Africans and things still didn't change much there either. Like stealing a car, because it's in a neighborhood where you think it will be stolen anyway. That's just another excuse psychos use to glorify a culture famous for atrocities so they can have a semi-clear conscious.
