This is a comparison, and review of Brooks B135 vs B33 vs B67 vs B66 Saddles.
These are all leather saddles, 200mm (8") wide saddles, with springs.
B135 - Shown in video. Double rails , sprung at front and rear.
B33 - Not shown in video. But the same as B135, but with triple rails.
B67 - Shown in Video. Sprung at rear only.
B66 - Not shown in video. Same as B67 but with double rails.
To summarise if I were buying a saddle right now I would get a B66, with a micro adjust adapter for double rails. Nice and strong. Simple. Very comfy.

Double Rail Adaptor for B135 and B66: www.sjscycles.co.uk/saddles/breezer-brooks-saddle-sandwich-combi-twin-rail-saddle-adaptor/ You might also consider BROOKS SADDLES B190 - which is 250mm wide and in very similar to B135

Thanks for recommendation this very useful adaptor (but in the same time most expensive piece of aluminum on Earth 😤).

That’s a good choice. If I were buying another I’d go for brown b67

Thanks, this was helpful I have a Brooks B68 atm, an older model now discontinued. The problem is that they brake, lovely saddle otherwise! The part of the frame that the leather is riveted to, brakes outside of where the rails connects to it. It's too wide for it's own good w/o any springs to take the shocks.

LOL. Well you guys did put man on the moon using imperial so. . . so respect for that I suppose. 😉

Imperial is awesome bro. If you've ever had to cut anything for construction to fit you'd realize that the fractional nature of inches makes life so much easier. Cutting something to 1 1/16th inch is a check of a lot easier than "okay I need this board to be 155cm and 4mm and 120.233333 cm" Metric has its place just as much as Imperial does.

@@jamesbaxter368 It put man on the moon did feet and inches. I guess in all things I am educated in metric system, measurement being just one. I haven't used fractions since I was 16. . . . except when I am cuttin up a pizza or cake.

for me a saddle always has to have springs just that 1mm movement is enough to be more comfortable than the sport ones

so you need 2 extra horizontal plates for the B33, in order to mount on a 90's post.

Hello, thank you very much for the video, it is very productive for us. I just had a question. I'm undecided between Brooks B33 and B135. Which of the two would you recommend? Is there much difference between them? Visually, the C135 does not look very nice when viewed from the rear, but in terms of comfort, it seemed more comfortable. Thank you!Eğer B33 alırsam, pişman olur muyum? Aklımda B135'te kalır mı ? (: If I buy B33, will I regret it? In my mind, will it stay at B135? (:

I would choose what you want, rather than what is sensible! B135 is a really comfy saddle and looks really unique.

Just use 2 rail adaptors on the triple rail version? Making one wouldn't be rocket science! I'm up to 8 Brooks saddles...a bit OCD?
@DorkyThorpy
@DorkyThorpy Жыл бұрын
Ah yeah. That's a good idea, you'd just need a longer bolt. . . . Last week I hired a bike when on holiday for a week. Non brooks saddle. My goodness it was uncomfortable, despite be a wide saddle, I got real sore. . . would you mind subscribing, only need another 14.

Based on the description of the video, we can get the impression that the B135 and B33 differ only in the double and triple rails, in fact they are very different in the appearance and construction (stranded rear coil springs vs double rear coil springs)! I guess the B135 is softer and for lighter riders, the B33 is also comfortable but designed for heavier riders, am I right?
@DorkyThorpy
@DorkyThorpy Жыл бұрын
Ah yes. You are right. The B33 has coiled springs of some description. I would have thought you would have to be _very_ heavy to break a double rail saddle, so triple rails of B33 more trouble than worth, because (for me) you can't use micro adjust.
@swietymikolajbb
@swietymikolajbb Жыл бұрын
@@DorkyThorpy It seems to me that the triple rails give some extra stiffness with an optimal weight. But these strangely twisted springs must have a reason, and it's probably the carrying capacity. Btw my interest in Brooks came from the fact that I needed to replace the saddle on my 50 year old bike because one of the rails had broken, but it was some cheap saddle.

The key bit is the adjustment screw. If it’s over half way then probs not a good idea. But if the brooks saddle looks ok, the leather has been looked after then yeah I’d buy a second hand one
