Ive had my b17 for about 5yrs now. Took about 3 months of commuting and long weekend rides to break in but i love it. Ill admit i originally bought it simply because i thought it was a good looking saddle, but 5 years later i swap it to whatever bike im riding. Try pointing it up just a bit.

I’ve had a Brooks B17 saddle on my Brompton for the past 15 years. It is a SUPER comfortable saddle…. 😊

My B17 is over 40 years old. It has been on many bikes and I expect it to last my lifetime!

Just bought a Brooks B17. Rode with it 1000KM. Within the first 10 hours, a center longitudinal ridge started to develop. Very painful as you sit on a spine. I contacted the company and they did everything possible to blame me, making assumptions about mishandling the saddle. I just rode it! Maybe it's a good saddle when not defective but if it is defective as mine was, the company will do everything they can to blame you and not take any responsibility, not even offering an exchange. Buy from better companies!

Ive been riding a Brooks Pro (large rivets) for 45 years. For me, nothing else is close. Old Brooks are far superior than the new. Thicker leather, better rails. Just great. Ideale has been out of business for awhile. The old ones were great, although they sagged quicker than Brooks

I will not go on a long ride with any other saddle than the B17, just the one you have. It is comfortable and was so right out of the box. I guess it's not for everyone, but mine is tilted back slightly, which is clearly not recommended by bike fitters. I've ridden across Canada (9,500 km) with mine in 2017 and the saddle is still good now.

You're retrofitting a long touring saddle for some sort of competitive ultra comfort whatever saddle. Brooks is the wrong saddle for what you need.

Nothing like trying to hear someone over music ffs

Like a good pair of leather boots, they need time to break in, but once achieved, they will be your go to. The Brooks saddle is no different.

I love my B17 Carver. It's taken me over 4000 miles and is the most comfortable saddle I've ridden. I like so much I now have another for my other bike too!

I bought my B17 in the run up to the 2017 Fietselfstedentocht. (You can see my video of that.) I'd heard that you have to break them in, but mine was comfy right out of the box, and still is. To stop it from sagging you do have to stretch it occasionally by turning the nut at the front end, and this wasn't as simple as it should have been. I had to use a pair of pliers as well as the spanner supplied with the saddle. Still got plenty of the saddle soap left too.

Have the same saddle, only changed the rivets for copper ones. Great saddle, would always buy the Special version as it much better quality overall.
