I haven’t seen anyone play the saw for ages. Leave it to Sierra Ferrell to bring back an old traditional country sound. I love that young fellows picking and singing on Deep River Blues. I believe I heard Doc Watson play that tune.

@@reginavance8295 Many saws will do that. You just need to try it out, That one has a handle that will make it easier on the hands to bend, Check out Elephant Revival. Bonnie Paine plays a pretty good saw herself.

That's the original "Theramin sound" before electronics. She's playing the saw. You bend a cross-cut saw and play it with a bow like a violin.

Creepy sounding. A waste of Sierra Ferrell's talent, only because the Doc Watson version is drilled into everyone's head. The minor key turns it into a different animal. Doesn't resonate quite right.

Nobody is forcing you to listen to it…Doc didn’t write the song. He performed it well and put his own spin on it. That’s what these two are doing.

There are several subtle nods to Doc in the performance if you pay attention carefully…spread some positivity if you feel compelled to comment. Otherwise, just skip over it if you don’t like it.
