Heard channel 4 had the choice to cancel hollyoaks or brookside but because hollyoaks was a fairly new show at the time they decided to cancel brookside I don't think they made the right decision

I don’t know why Brookside was cancelled. Barry and Sinbad was my two favourite characters. I still call the actors by their character names, even after all theses years.

It was cancelled in 2003 because the storylines had turned to tripe what with plane crashes and the like too alas. Viewers turned off and so no-one really watched it; viewing figures then went down and so Channel 4 then decided its time was up somehow. A shame really given what it had been in the 1980s and 90s in a way; but that is what they did though too!

Roger Huntingdon , played by Rob Spendlove was also in Soldier Soldier, he played Sergeant Major Stubbs. His character was married to Denise Welch.

I was waiting for Gordon Collins too... And the guy who was in the bungalow before Harry.... Guy is Terence Dicken Ashworth and played Alan Partridge from 83 to 85...Nice to see Karen up there as you don't see nothing about her... Also I would have liked to see damons mates up there.

Use to watch Brookside. When a soap goes it's odd as you expect them to go on for decades like Emmerdale with the farmer who has hand stuck up a cow each week

Harold Cross wasn't in the original cast. He first appeared in 1983. That surprised me because I thought he was in from the start.
