I just searching through these. I used to pick up Real radio been in South Yorkshire. It was on 106.2 and a good frequency it was too as I could pick up Saga FM on 106.6 coming from Nottingham. As the frequencies were so close I used to listen to both stations. Both were the best stations to choose from until Saga closed in 2007 and Real radio changed with a very tight playlist to compare with rivals of Hallam and Galaxy. When I stopped listening to Real radio Yorkshire altogether was when the late Umberto left and a strong Irish accent person replaced the breakfast program. Wasn't all out of the woods at that moment the replacement for Real radio was the choices with Smooth radio. I had 2 options, I could either have chosen Smooth radio London service on DAB or Smooth radio East Midlands on 106.6 FM which replaces Saga FM. This is when radio in commercial started to change for the worse. Pretty much all radio stations started to sound like radio Hallam with the same 3 records. Today it's just Boom radio that currently remains that never plays the same songs constantly.
