Question. Is it OK to downshift and let off the clutch slowly so it won’t jerk? Will it put wear on the transmission?
@BrosFOURRSpeed Жыл бұрын
You can definitely do that too. Not a bad way for normal driving. Rev matching lets you do a shift a bit quicker tho
@ninjacloudkidvloggings8528 Жыл бұрын
OK, because usually my method of driving, if I know I’m about to slow down usually I’ll just let off the clutch slowly into its RPM. And when I’m trying to speed up, I’ll rev match. Im new to rev matching.

One thing i thought i heard or saw somewhere is that for first gear(in older cars that dont have a complex computer) you add throttle as you release the clutch. Is that still fine to do? Or is it actually a blip for 1st gear?
@BrosFOURRSpeed7 ай бұрын
From a start or while moving? I’d never rev match to first gear. First is for starting from a stand still.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed When ur not moving and try to start rolling. Some people I see they do the entire add throttle AS you release the clutch just how you showed. Watch the tach. When you get to about 3-4k RPM go ahead and shift. Normal driving you want to stay around 2-3k while cruising. If your trying to accelerate faster, can push it closer to 5k to shift.
