I am a great advocate for Christian music, particularly the older stuff. And thanks for including a Christian song in your picks. I know people want t concentrate on Carry Underwood's voice. But did anybody mention how great the song is and how it is a masterpiece? And that's my point about a longer finale. Particularly at the end of such a performance. I just wanted to know in an additional 2-3 minutes of how much you appreciate the craft of songwriting in such a case. I mean what is it in this songs that makes hundreds of singers, even non-believers sing it. How about the lyrics, how about the composition. How about the arrangement. At the end, sure, I agree, Carrie Underwood did an unbelievably amazing job.

She had them all on their feet, in a total ovation....before she even finished the song. Now, that's more than just music. That's more than just singing. That's His power....working at the exact place, at the exact time, to move an entire congregation of people. For where two or more are gathered in His name....there shall you find Him. 💯❤️💯❤️💯❤️

"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Boberg (1859-1940) in Mönsterås, Sweden, in 1885. It was translated into German and then into Russian; it was translated into English from the Russian by English missionary Stuart K. Hine

Carrie Underwood I believe was the winner of the second season of American Idol. I think she is not as deservedly exposed to audiences outside the US because of the genre of music she does, which is American country music. And yes, she is amazing, and could seemingly belt out anything put before her.

This song was played at my brothers funeral 😭 When an audience of country music superstars jumps up with a standing ovation long before the song is finished, you know you have witnessed something really special. Carrie said in an interview that the Holy Spirit took over during the guitar solo and she did not even remember finishing the song. This is one of the best renditions out there. At the end of the song there was no music playing, just her ♥️

She is a country singer and that means its mostly popular and famous within America. BUT she is one of the most famous country singers internationally. You can’t simply mention Country Music without Carrie being at the top of it. Its been a long issue with Men overtaking the charts over women BUT she literally is the woman who keeps on being at par with them in terms of success. You know Kelly Clarkson? FACTUALLY, Carrie is more successful than her but Kelly is more popular bec she’s in a genre in which is more popular “ pop . “ Don’t worry about her being not famous& successful, she already is the Queen of Country Music for more than two decades and have reached , taken over the throne in the charts and broke records more than some of the artist you know 👸🏼🔥 In this performance, she was given a tribute for being the only winner to win EntertainmentOfTheYear twice in a row. She is already considered a Country Music Legend. and yes lads, in terms of Success, she is far more successful than Christina Aguilera BUT Aguilera is more popular internationally bec of her known genre.

“When Christ shall come, with shouts of acclamations...” That part of the song is about The Rapture (Thessalonians 4:13-18😊), when Jesus Christ steps out on the clouds and HIS blood bought born again Christian children from around the whole world, HE takes us to Heaven to be with HIM for Eternity. Those left behind will go through the Great Tribulation.

I move for Carrie to collaborate with Matt Smith (Theocracy) .. I want to see Smith adapt "I Am" for Underwood as a duet! If one is curious as to the talent Smith has to write for "the singer" then check out Project Aegis .. As powerful as "I Am" is with just Smith alone .. Imagine it with Underwood as a duet!

If you like Carrie Underwood's performance, how much more you should appreciate the SONGWRITER. Do you even know him? Do they write songs like this nowadays? It was written in 1885 and the words are by Carl Boberg. He was a Swedish poet. (1859- 1940). It was first in Swedish, then translated into German and then into Russian. It was translated into English from the Russian by an English Christian missionary called Stuart K. Hine, (1899-1989) who also added two original verses of his own. "How Great Thou Art" was ranked second (only after "Amazing Grace" another masterpiece) on a list of the favourite hymns of all time in a survey by "Christianity Today" magazine in 2001. It is a paraphrasing of Psalm 8 of the Bible.

It makes me sad that you don't know who Vince Gill is. 🥺 He's one of the best, and a country music icon. He gave the most heart wrenching performance at the memorial of Country Music Legend, George Jones: Go Rest High on That Mountain. Steven Tyler, a Rock Icon, is far removed from country music.

Vince Gill’s voice is amazingly clear and pure. His ‘Breath of Heaven’ always requires having Kleenex close by. Not Christmas without it. I saw him touring as one of the Cherry Bombs, Rosanne Cash’s band; that was in 81 or 82.
