Carrie could sing the phone book and blow it away with her vocals!!! She has the best voice today period! Vince and that beautiful solo on the guitar, he has always been the best. if you watch the whole ACM girls night out awards, Vince sings Carrie¨s Jesus take the wheel before they do this. She was honored for 14 #1 hits at this time, 3 grammys, back to back EOTY numerous female of the year, single of the year and Opry member. She now has 8 grammys, 28 #1 hits, and another EOTY, 100s of other awards, becoming the most decorated female in history!! Oh and lets not forget she is the voice for ¨Waiting all day for Sunday night¨ on NBC Sunday night NFL football for the last 12 yrs.

Vince and Carrie took the world on a journey and absolutely transported us with that performance. Carrie and Vince were worshipping the Lord - we were just given the privilege of witnessing that glorious vocal and guitar masterpiece. The Holy Spirit shone out of her so brightly it was mind-blowing! How she punctuated every verse with her arm and held those impossibly long notes - absolutely breathtaking! How Vince Gill made that Stratocaster cry was mind-blowing. There will never be another performance of How Great Thou Art that will top that PERFECT performance. It affects everyone with a beating heart the same way! After the performance, Carrie said that the Holy Spirit took over and she didn't even remember singing the last half of the song!

Side note : Vince Gill was handpicked by the Eagles to join and tour with them after the passing Glenn Fry. That says something about his singing ability also. These are both legendary singers and performers! They are both stars in their own right! Don't know if "How Great Thou Art" is known the world over but it is a standard here in America's Church Hymnals. BTW, ELVIS performs this "Live in Concert" for his fans; one televised version 1972. Vince Gill is phenomenal with both strings and vocals. Check out his song “go rest high on that mountain” he wrote it after his brother died (also a tribute to Keith Whitley in there) a great show of his guitar skills would be “Oklahoma borderline” Some of my other favorites would be “when I call your name” and “which bridge to cross” his vocals are just amazing.

Go rest high is a great song, I recommend checking out the live version at the Opry or the studio (he sounds the same either way) but after listening to the original I highly suggest listening to Vince And Patty Loveless performing the song at George Jones funeral where Vince adds in a beautiful guitar solo when he gets emotional.
