Wow, now I really want this serger! As a beginner in overlockers, I bought the Brother m343d model which is fine, but it makes a little too much noise for my liking. Also, it doesn’t have a trim trap, needle threader and all these amazing features this beauty has. This will surely be my next serger! I just love how easy to work with and quiet it is!

I didn't realize how crazy helpful all these features are, Sooooo thankful I get to use this from now on. Hope you're able to get one soon, happy crafting!

I can't wait to get this machine. I have the 1034D and I've been so happy with it. Brother makes awesome machines. I tie on different colored threads so I'm not rethreading each time with new colors, but the air tech is so incredible. You can't go wrong with Brother. I used the Brother 6000 sewing machine for 8 YEARS before I upgraded to a Babylock [similar tech as Brother, maybe owned by Brother?]. Happy to see a Brother air serger! Thanks for a great review! Loved the explanation at the end about all the knobs. 😋

Sergers are amazing machines! Great job unboxing and demoing this new serger. Brother machines are awesome and I have no doubt that this new serger will be as well. Thanks for sharing!

Great Video! I am in the market for a Serger and this one looks great. I liked the way you took your time explaining each step. I am definitely putting this at the top of my list. Thank you for your great demo.

As with every product, here is a honest review: Upgraded from 1034DX to the airflow. Huge regret. Its 3x the price with not so amazing features. The lower left "vacuum" broke after 1 month of use. Paying extra $ to get that fixed with only few weeks of use. I know by heart that the design intended well but perform poorly. If the lower threads vacuum stop working, there is no work around to manually thread. You will be stuck, spending $ to fix a poorly design feature. Selling my machine asap, since my shop wont accept returns.

Wow, that's awful. I don't deal with service requests or anything, but is there some kind of manufacturer warranty? I'm sure you looked into stuff, but I'm curious anyway.

Thank you for sharing the threading process of the Serger. My late mom had a Serger. I never understood why there was more than one thread spool.

You're very welcome! Sergers are obviously a very specific type of machine, but if you need one you're probably already selling products :)

Both Babylock & Brother are made by Tacony so it was bound to happen. I own the Babylock Imagine Serger and I purchased it specifically for the air threading feature. It was worth the price of admission!

Not quite. Brother makes BabyLock sewing machines for them. Brother is it's own company. Tacony doesn't manufacture machines on it's own.

Before you put the thread in the air hole, pull it to about your knee, then thread it through. It needs slack. Also, some threads won’t go through because they are too light. This is how my BabyLock machine works.

have you tried tying the new thread to the old one and then pulling through?

It's so fast! Also, is there a good way to fix an overlocked edge if one of the stitches breaks? It always seems like once one thread pulls, it's only a matter of time before the whole edge goes. I love the equipment walkthroughs, but I'd also love to see a video on how to tell when it is going to be easier to break out a needle and thread than it will be to break out the machinery.
@TockCustom
@TockCustom Жыл бұрын
Actually yes, you just have to rethread the machine and then you can overlock over the botched seam and it will just cover any bad looking areas :)

I have a juki 654 de, I don't mind threading the inside of the machine, but I hate threading the needles. It is a good machine however.

Just wondering if you would prefer it had auto tension.
@TockCustom
@TockCustom Жыл бұрын
I like having manual dials since different fabrics don't always work with auto tension. Then again I've never used an overlock machine that had intuitive auto tension, so I really can't say.

@@TockCustom Thats what I was thinking. Thats a nice machine, I'm someone who has bought a top babylock with auto tension to counteract my bad skills. hahahaha.

does anybody know the difference between a serger and an overlock?

There is no difference, both the same thing - in UK it's an overlocker and in USA it's called a serger.
