Is this dude really underground? If he's underground, then what the fuck are we doing? I'm a 90s baby, maybe this dude was before my time or something, but if he's not above ground then this dude needs to be above ground for real. This dude is a fresh breath of air.

:-: Oh yeah.. He totally Underground.... tbh I greatly appreciate the underground world of Hip Hop.. They keep Hip Hop alive and well, bringing more quality sounds and lyrics.. Don't worry either lol I'm a 90s baby.. We still kicking it though.. I believe us 90s babies still hold the key to the new age.

I was born in the early 80s and have known about him since like 98. You would have never heard him on the radio or on hoe ass MTV/BET back then. The unfortunate reality of the game is that political messages and messangers in Rap get drowned out by the labels with Vapid, meaningless, marketable bullshit or destroyed by the system because anything that speaks truth to power to the common man is an obstruction, a threat to the very power structure of the systems that hold up this corrupt ass country and keeps the record executives fat and rich. Look how they did Scarface, Pac, and so many others. Demonized to the public through "family values" politicians, harassed and investigated by the alphabet boys, some even murdered without any real investigation into their deaths. RIP to those we lost and much respect to those that gave up fortune and fame because they wouldn't sell out.

One of the best to ever put pen to paper. This man and his music provided comfort and emotional support in a time that I was sleeping under a bridge in the absolute dead of winter. Seeing this beautiful soul that very clearly is Muslim and genuinely loves human beings made me want to know more about Islam and helped me make the decision to convert to Islam many years ago. There's a section of the song "Own Light (What Hearts Are For)" that still rings true in my ears and resonates in my soul. "Know that I'm a soldier, heart's are my battleground Sword in the holster, had to come back around I ain't trying to hide away, I just had to meditate I ain't got a lot to say, but the ancestors may" I don't care what a person's religious or political beliefs are. What matters at the end of the day is their hearts. Hearts are my battleground too. And it's this man that helped me understand exactly what that means.

I'm still emotional about this track. Because I feel him. He feels he isn't really "heard", and people overlook his artistry. I feel that way about my poetry. People shadow over my poetry and give me a quick "great" or "deep" comment, and it hurts. Lol. Thanks for resurrecting this gem! 💎 Killin it bro, 👌🧡💛💚💙💜

:-: Well Brother Ali heard here.. Its easy to feel people over shadow your talent, craft, passion. At the same time there are still those who Greatly appreciate your passion and craft. 8:40 lol.. This here is a Gem for sure.. Really Soul.. His question almost made me disable the comments thought lol.

Indeed! People such as you are the true lovers of art, and compassionate of one's art. Also, thank you for the respect and moment for the superlunary otherworldly soul Eyedea. He is definitely never forgotten. 🙏 I understand what you mean though, us passionate creative people respect and thoroughly hear (not listen) lol, but there are a ton of others who just gloss over the artist, and the message they convey, or their art entirely because they only like one thing, or just because of the name, etc. Disabling the comments might not be such a bad idea! Haha. 💚💛🧡💙

I love watching reaction videos because i get to see people experience hearing music for the first time that means so much to me. There's something about that moment when a song or some lyrics poke a person right in their heart and Brother Ali is one of those artists that does it so much more consistently than most. Your videos and others like yourself help spread the music of artists like Brother Ali to more people. Keep it up. Some recommendations: Immortal Technique "The 4th Branch" Lupe Fiasco pretty much any Lupe track. Maybe "Switch"? IDK i can't choose haha More Aesop Rock of course

:-: Lol Yeahhh when music pokes a person right in their heart you know it's music for the Soul.. Like you said Brother Ali is one of those Artist who can easily speak to the Soul.. Doing reactions is what put me on to such amazing artist world wide.. Much Much Love and Respect.. Also I was thinking of getting on some Lupa soon frfr.. Especially hearing what's been going on.. More Immortal as well.. As for Aes....... You Know That's Here 😂😂😂.. Much Much Love and Respect.

I wish popular music wasn't the example of vanity but im also glad that the music and the art in general iam attracted to is underground. It wouldn't feel as authentic if it was so widely accepted. But I can totally understand wanting to share your gift with as many people as possible .
@iammrwack4 жыл бұрын
:-: I totally agree if it was so widely appected it prolly wouldn't feel the same.. The truth and Real Music is not so much Pumped.. I believe sharing gifts with as many as I possibly can.. More so the passion behind the gift.

Just watched the whole video and i just wanted to say that the question Brother Ali posed wasn't to you, the viewer or average fan. He was talking about going on a promo run and going to the big publications and his expectation was no one had ever heard of him or his music, but as he says in the track he was surprised to see that they did and were big fans and his music has helped them. So the question was more towards them, the publication of why they dont include his name or others in his camp on the list of greatest Hip-hop artists of all time since they have the power to influence others to check them out and put their catalogue's with the other mainstream artists. Everytime these big publications put out a list, there is a lot of buzz around it and ppl going back and forth on whose right and whose not but usually the same names appear on those lists, you rarely see any underground artists like Brother Ali. Just wanted to share my interpretation

:-: Smh and I've missed this comment.. But I'm glad I read it.. No lie I mean I do reactions alot so I won't sure and being he knew these type of videos were out there I won't sure if he was talking to the listener or viewer.. I thank you for your enlightenment on those questions.
