Too much of life is surrounding ourselves with people who are exactly like us. If Brother Ali isn't like you---and he pretty much can't be unless you're a blind, Albino, Muslim rapper from Minnesota---then expand your horizons and hear what his view is. You won't be diminished from listening to others; your brain doesn't shrink from injecting other ideas. It's sad for me to read how comments dissect people up. We don't need to do that to each other---especially not after watching such a respectful and enlightening interview like this. "You're not using your heart for what hearts are for."

I say this because of what is going on between Christians and Muslims. The hate that is spoken by some of one faith toward another faith. Half of this interview was about Muslims how does religion have nothing to with it?

Insha'llah I will be a better man tomorrow than I am today. Brother Ali, I'm thankful that there are people like you to be examples for right living and staying in the adab with those around us. I know not to put people up on a pedestal, but it's pretty clear that even if you are to stumble, your intent is honorable. love and blessings, Assalamu'alaykum wa rahmatu'llah wa barakatu

Hes saying nobody's ancestors lived off the back of slaves except America.. and lists places like Africa and Asia as examples of places who didn't flourish off the back of slavery.. Damn man that is just not factual, Africa has practiced slavery for thousands of years and STILL TIL THIS DAY enslave their own people.. the Pygmy people of the Congo are still enslaved now by other Africans and Africans were enslaved by other Africans when they were first sold to brazilians then europeans.. so don't give me this shit about everyone is innocent except Americans.. You begin to just sound extremely ignorant to any historically informed person when you start to talk like that. And i only gave one example, you can look toward the history of the Moors enslaving whites, asians and hispanics for nearly 1000 years straight as well.. wake up and stop blaming everyone except yourself or nothing will change
