It took me a long, long time, but I finally put my foot down and have refused to be in the same room with him going on 2 years now. It's one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. People forget... toxic people in your family are STILL toxic people. You are NOT obligated to give access to your life to someone who is harmful to your mental and emotional wellbeing, EVEN IF they're more subtle about it and EVEN IF they're family.

Given the dresses she was looking at were lace dresses, and I assume the sleeves would also be a lace material, alterations would be necessary regardless to ensure they fit correctly on the circumference of her arms. I totally agree though, I can't believe there were no dresses with sleeves for her to at least try!Perhaps that's standard with +size dresses to show the fit of the dress, rather than the alterations that can made :)

There’s a ton of work that goes into bypass. She may have had to lose a certain amount of weight before she could get the surgery, you have to be sooo careful with what you eat, how you eat, and how much. It’s HARD.

The way the brother sits lines up with the level of care and respect he shows. His arms outstretched, legs wide - making sure he takes up all the space and not giving the women on his sides an inch. My soul would wither and die if my boys treated their sister like that and/or their sister treated them like that. The best aspect of parenting multiple children is witnessing the love and bond grow between siblings. Parents and caregivers have a responsibility to foster those relationships.

This is why I went shopping for my Wedding Gown by myself! (And paid for it by myself!) l didn’t give a hoot what anyone else thought! That was 38 years ago now, I’m 60 and widowed. Thank goodness for Grandkids, my reason for living! I don’t think this was the first time her brother treated her this way. She needs to grow a backbone and put that boy in his place!
