@paultapping9510 i read from an analysis somewhere that men struggle with empathy and basically tapping into emotions when appropriate (again, not all, but it's more prominent with older generations due to parenting styles). If this story is true, it might be bc he really thought he was doing the right thing by letting his son do what he wants with the "he'll grow out of it" mentality, rather than recognizing that his other son was being emotionally mistreated until wayyyyy later than it would've been preferred and putting a stop to it earlier on and actually maintaining proper disciple to stop the behavior

This is beyond unimaginable-the betrayal from both your brother and your wife is absolutely devastating. For him to make your life difficult and then cross a line that can never be uncrossed shows an extreme lack of respect and loyalty. It’s no surprise your parents chose to leave everything to you; they must have seen the pain he caused and wanted to make things right in some way. It’s completely understandable if you choose to keep your distance after everything he’s done. You deserve peace and stability, especially after going through something like this. Stay strong!

This was believable in how OOP kept forgiving and trying to earn his awful wife's love no matter how many times she betrayed him. He kept forgiving and trying to earn his awful mother and even his awful father's love (despite his change of heart, he was still a terrible parent). And I even got the sense that when OOP and his brother were watching movies together that he would have forgiven his brother and tried to earn his love, too, should his brother only ask. This is exactly how an emotionally abused person would act, frustrating as it is to read. Despite the "happy" ending, OOP would have had a much better life had he not given so many chances to the people who kept betraying him. Had he just left for college and built a new life without any of his family in it.

There is no harmless flirting. Giving attention to flirting and further indulging in it itself is morally wrong when you are in committed relationship. All of that she did weren't mistakes but choices she consciously made Knowing it was wrong. She was a red flag when she gave in to the 'harmless flirting' from David Which was at the initial stage of their marriage or near to the beginning of marriage. OP imo should have taken a bit of caution when she was including David during their Date. He should've been watchful of the dynamic developing between his wife and David considering the kind of guy David was.. not saying wife can't bond with brother in law. Not a problem if its a sibling like bond but its a problem if its going beyond sibling bond or in this case having this kind of younger brother. What a wife shouldn't be doing with another man, she shouldn't be doing with brother in law aswell irrespective of age. Also imo The cheating with the 1st guy even when OP didn't know about her relationship with his brother should've been the deal breaker for divorce. Forgiving her at that time was stupidity.

The people who judge OP for leaving the kid are dead wrong. He has no obligation to that child & while I agree that being a family is more than DNA, it's still up to OP. Some people can raise anothers child, others cannot. Its sad, it's tragic & little Henry is a victim as well in this situation, but its not on OP, given the trauma he has been through, the betraying, the cheating, the bullying,..., I don't blame him & can understand how he sees the child as a product of it. I hope he finds himself a loyal partner he can be happy with.

The Mother didn't want to get involved? Sure Sounded like she was perfectly fine getting involved when it was in favour of the younger son. Also. This story is a perfect example as to why it should be required by Federal Law before a birth certificate was signed; A Paternity test must be REQUIRED Dad = Based

"This story seems fake as hell." That's what I was thinking. I'm sure there's some basic truth to some of it, but a lot of it just seems way to...Hollywood to be believable. Also, I'm always skeptical when someone claims that a family member, coworker, friend, etc. is this horrible monster because people have a tendency to exaggerate such things in order to make themselves appear as the "good guy" in the situation. And with something like this, we are only getting one person's side of the story, which is unlikely to be a full and accurate account of the situation. As such, everything that was said needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

This is why you marry and have kids with a woman who had a father, and be a present father yourself. Without discipline especially for boys it’ll grow into what David was. As a woman I aim to include my fathers parenting in my own and not to spoil my child and turn them into an insufferable narcissist

This is how you know its fake. ",I'm leaving your brother $1.00. Any lawyer will tell you not to do this. Leaving someone anything in your will entiles them to know whats in your entire estate and who gets what. You just declare that in your will you are deliberately leaving them.zilch.
@ALoudlyBarkingDog

But wasn't that the point?
@Dornan77802
@Dornan77802 3 ай бұрын
The reason people do that though is so that the person can’t contest the will by claiming that they were forgotten or possibly written of it by other inheritors. This is something that originates with old English law if I’m not mistaken.
@RequiemPoete
@RequiemPoete 3 ай бұрын
@Dornan77802 If I do not mention, say my son at all in the will you could argue that. But if my certified will says ",And to my son I leave absolutely nothing at all. No assets, no money, nothing." Then my intentions couldn't possibly be questioned.
@RequiemPoete
@RequiemPoete 3 ай бұрын
@ALoudlyBarkingDog Depending on local laws, leaving someone anything entitles them knowing the entire estate's worth and who gets what. However if you clearly state you leave them nothing, that makes your intentions clear, and entitles them to zero info.

Growing up, my sister used to bully me and beat me up. Finally, at the age of 11, she pushed me too far and I hit back. My parents, used to hearing me cry and yell heard my sister cry and yell, came running and saw what I was doing. They smiled, turned around and walked off. My sister never tried to bully me again. 40 years later, she still insists I cheated.

favoring one child over the other in such a way never ends well especially for the Golden one as they grow up thinking all will be forgiven because they're the favorite only once they grow up life isn't that simple anymore and most Golden children end up in jail as they end up stepping in something mommy and daddy can't/won't save them from and sleeping with a sibling's spouse is a pretty big one especially since this one was dodging his parental responsibilities by letting his brother think he had a son. and Karen has a lot of nerve claiming it was a mistake and claiming a child shouldn't be raised in a broken home after cheating 3 times and one with the person who tortured OP his whole life. finally the mother she needs a massive wake up call she created this monster and is still secretly trying to baby him.
