If this story is true, it might be bc he really thought he was doing the right thing by letting his son do what he wants with the "he'll grow out of it" mentality, rather than recognizing that his other son was being emotionally mistreated until wayyyyy later than it would've been preferred and putting a stop to it earlier on and actually maintaining proper disciple to stop the behavior

This is beyond unimaginable-the betrayal from both your brother and your wife is absolutely devastating. For him to make your life difficult and then cross a line that can never be uncrossed shows an extreme lack of respect and loyalty. It’s no surprise your parents chose to leave everything to you; they must have seen the pain he caused and wanted to make things right in some way. It’s completely understandable if you choose to keep your distance after everything he’s done. You deserve peace and stability, especially after going through something like this. Stay strong!

This was believable in how OOP kept forgiving and trying to earn his awful wife's love no matter how many times she betrayed him. He kept forgiving and trying to earn his awful mother and even his awful father's love (despite his change of heart, he was still a terrible parent). And I even got the sense that when OOP and his brother were watching movies together that he would have forgiven his brother and tried to earn his love, too, should his brother only ask. This is exactly how an emotionally abused person would act, frustrating as it is to read. Despite the "happy" ending, OOP would have had a much better life had he not given so many chances to the people who kept betraying him. Had he just left for college and built a new life without any of his family in it.

There is no harmless flirting. Giving attention to flirting and further indulging in it itself is morally wrong when you are in committed relationship. All of that she did weren't mistakes but choices she consciously made Knowing it was wrong. She was a red flag when she gave in to the 'harmless flirting' from David Which was at the initial stage of their marriage or near to the beginning of marriage. OP imo should have taken a bit of caution when she was including David during their Date. He should've been watchful of the dynamic developing between his wife and David considering the kind of guy David was.. not saying wife can't bond with brother in law. Not a problem if its a sibling like bond but its a problem if its going beyond sibling bond or in this case having this kind of younger brother. What a wife shouldn't be doing with another man, she shouldn't be doing with brother in law aswell irrespective of age. Also imo The cheating with the 1st guy even when OP didn't know about her relationship with his brother should've been the deal breaker for divorce. Forgiving her at that time was stupidity.

"This story seems fake as hell." That's what I was thinking. I'm sure there's some basic truth to some of it, but a lot of it just seems way to...Hollywood to be believable. Also, I'm always skeptical when someone claims that a family member, coworker, friend, etc. is this horrible monster because people have a tendency to exaggerate such things in order to make themselves appear as the "good guy" in the situation. And with something like this, we are only getting one person's side of the story, which is unlikely to be a full and accurate account of the situation. As such, everything that was said needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

(F* off, KZbin for removing my posts!) No sympathy for Karen or even their kid. OP is under no obligation to the kid if he isn’t his. Also, shame on David and OP’s mom.

No one deserves to go through this, but staying with someone after they cheated once, let alone twice is just pure stupidity

The mother is in the wrong it is never the child’s fault it is the fault of the parents never the child’s simply the child was raised with no sort of punishment the fault is more on the mother

I just feel bad for the child. But I can never blame the man. I just hope the child grew up not resenting his 'uncle' and they can reunite and make peace with each other

Growing up, my sister used to bully me and beat me up. Finally, at the age of 11, she pushed me too far and I hit back. My parents, used to hearing me cry and yell heard my sister cry and yell, came running and saw what I was doing. They smiled, turned around and walked off. My sister never tried to bully me again. 40 years later, she still insists I cheated.

wow, imagine someone treating you with the same lack of respect you showed yourself by taking them back after they betrayed you not once... but twice! but then again, thats what happens when you let your feelings dictate your choices...

what a horrible wife too, saying her affair had gone "beyond her control" like she wasnt the one cheating repeatedly

favoring one child over the other in such a way never ends well especially for the Golden one as they grow up thinking all will be forgiven because they're the favorite only once they grow up life isn't that simple anymore and most Golden children end up in jail as they end up stepping in something mommy and daddy can't/won't save them from and sleeping with a sibling's spouse is a pretty big one especially since this one was dodging his parental responsibilities by letting his brother think he had a son. and Karen has a lot of nerve claiming it was a mistake and claiming a child shouldn't be raised in a broken home after cheating 3 times and one with the person who tortured OP his whole life. finally the mother she needs a massive wake up call she created this monster and is still secretly trying to baby him.
