wow. what a crazy class. I walked into this class feeling very unsure of this piece because I wasn't sure if people were going to be prepared to learn a duet piece. But I realized the main purpose of teaching this duet piece was to do something different for this event and give the students something that they generally don't experience. And that is making them understand that it's always easier to dance by yourself. But when you have to dance with someone else, you start to realize that you have to adapt your movements around others. You have to patient, you have to be understanding, you have to help each other, and you have to emotionally connect with each other. All those elements not only make you a better dancer, but a better person. And i'm so happy that everyone was able to come out and challenge themselves to a REALLY REALLY fun class. oh my gosh. it was so amazing to see the amount of growth within the hour and a half and see everyone rise from their failures instead of let it take over.
song: Brother - Matt Corby

I love the little things: (and the big ones too, of course) "Ease my mind..." - Place hands on each other's head "Hiding under the covers..." - Sean looks like he's hiding (behind Kaycee) "With no one else to blame..." - Both of them shake their head "You couldn't tell it to his face..." - Sean doesn't look at Kaycee, while she performs a move where she focuses on Sean's hand and not his face. "Let it out and say..." - Both of them jump on the word 'out' Kaycee's expressions on those last few lines : WOW!!!

Annabeth Chase yeah I really appreciate it. I notice in a lot of songs when dancer began to really match the choreography to the lyrics it is distracting and I feel like it really takes away from the emotional depth of the performance so I love that they can so clearly connect the two forms of art in a really seamless way that’s not distracting. Sean and Kayee are both brilliant artist with much to come

So proud of how far you have come Sean! Keep improving and developing your craft. I can see you doing so much more creative, crazy stuff, just keep pushing boundaries and walls. And not to downplay how good and unique ur choreography was, but you and Kaycee remind me of Keone and Mari. Keep growing. That’s the key.

I've probably watched this video a dozen times and I keep coming back to it. I just love their story and the way they perfectly orchestrate it through dance. At 0:35 Kaycee tries to catch Sean but misses. It's like Sean is going through something and Kaycee is trying to help him but isn't able to. They go throughout life distanced but still in sync after that, with different life experiences affecting each other in the same way but not in the same places. They officially separate at 1:27 and then reunite, now doing the same moves exactly. That is until another hardship comes along to try to knock them off their feet at 1:43. Sean is now in the place that Kaycee was in and sees life from her point of view. They switch roles. Kaycee is now the one going through the same struggle that Sean was going through in the beginning. Sean seeing this, and seeing where the pattern leads to, catches her just in the nick of time at 2:09 before she can get away/escape, showing her that she doesn't need to go through it alone as he did. Absolutely beautiful. I love this piece.

The stories you and Kaycee tell with movement alone speak to everyone and make us want to watch you over and over. Kaycee is the perfect muse; she effortlessly meshes with you and helps amplify the power and richness of your choreography while gifting the story with her uniquely intense and precise expression. Alone, each of you are magnetic in your own right; together you are an addictive powerhouse. By turns your work is subtle yet explosive, sharp edges and smooth lines, shadows then blazing sunlight. I hope we will be lucky enough to see more of your amazing storytelling partnership with Kaycee in the future.

The role reversal at the end is just too good. And I think I'm honestly just overwhelmed with emotion that this boy is one of the most talented people of the century and we are lucky enough to be living in the time of his genius. His choreography is a such a force to be reckoned with. And there's only one girl that takes that force and carries it so beautifully, my eyes start seeping liquid. It's no coincidence that these two were brought together. They are complete magic. I've been watching Sean and Kaycee dance for a long time now, and every time I see them create something new, the world feels like a better place. That might sound crazy, but I truly believe they're bringing much needed light to this planet. This will always be one of my favorite pieces by anyone ever. You guys are so amazing. When Sean hugged Kaycee from the back, she was supposed to throw his hands off because the dance is supposed to represent them forgiving each other after a breakup. In the dance Kaycee was supposed to still be mad at him for breaking her heart (in the dance) and she was supposed to throw his arms off of her, but she didn't. #seaycee i ship them so hard

emmalee grace Man that sucks cause the video is unavailable. But man, I didn’t know that was the story. I mean I had that sense them forgiving each other (especially what was shown at the end), but I didn’t know that it was about after a breakup. This just made me respect Sean Lew SO MUCH MORE with his choreography and just his way of storytelling through dancing. Heck, he can even do this now with freestyling which is insane.

loved all the shapes you created with this choreo. you can definitely do more with two bodies than you can with one ~~ so cool to see the duet freestyling, also. it's a gift to be able to witness the growth from you beautiful humans.

Wildabeast at the end, watching Sean grow and develop not only as a dancer but also a person for the last 4-5 ( if not longer). I felt that energy.

As always, Sean's choreo is breathtaking and so complex in many little ways and as always, the duet Kaycee & Sean is so emotional and they just kill it. The new thing is that I really enjoyed Sam taking Sean's class.

What i love the most about watching your choreography is seeing everyone's reaction to it and appreciate your hard work. You deserve it after everything you've done. You are simply amazing as is Kaycee and together you guys are just magic.

You two did something magical that day. This is a masterpiece Sean. I always adore what you do but this is...you outdid yourself. It's a huge thing that you decided to challenge yourself and others with this piece but it paid off. What a beautiful piece of art.
