Thx for this video. FYI stay close to your machine during stitch out. There could be an issue with tension or anything. This machine and Babylock Flourish II will give messages with an error message. I really like the user friendliness of these machines. Happy stitching.

I bought my baby lock verve and vibrant serger and You are so right I wish I knew this before buying my babylock verve I love it but I didn’t realize it only came with a 4x4 hoop ugh now I’m looking for a embroidery machine only with a bigger hoop thank you for a wonderful demonstration.

I was going to get Brother Se600 but I saw Babylock Verve which was more expensive version of it. I called the dealers around my area but because of covid shipping not available till April or May. One dealer's technician said don't buy the Brother SE600 because of the 4x4 hoop. After watching a few video people who have 4x4 as their first embroidery machine did regret getting small hoop. Originally was going for next hoop size machine which is 5x7 like Brother SE1900 now I am going to straight to this to save headaches since I believe extra $200 to $300

My pressure foot lever does not go up and down like you just did. I have to use the button. I was told it was normal. I LOVE this machine!

Jenn, (Is Jenn correct?) I bought a Brother RSQ9285 (refurbed) SQ9285 to keep busy in my retirement. While looking around KZbin for sewing videos I encountered Embroidery and am seriously looking at the SE1900, but your video on the NQ1600E has entered the arena!! Is the NQ1600E going to offer me enough more capability to warrant the extra $$? Also, you mention you have instuctional courses? Could your courses help a Septuagenarian learn how to make a few things for family and friends?

I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Honest, down to Earth. I have been looking at bigger embroidery machines for years. Get this - I have a PE-150 4x4!!!!! I could do SO MUCH MORE. Question - are there any concerns about thread tension? I know PE770 & PE800 are reported to have this issue. Any feedback is appreciated!!!

I have this machine and I'm running into an issue. Can you do free motion stippling with it? I have an applique design that will be a quilted wall hanging. While I could quilt it first and then do the applique, it won't show on the back. I would have to do stitch in the ditch around 2 6x6 blocks. I'm trying to figure out if it would work with my machine.

There is only a USB port on the NQ1600. If you have a card reader attached to your home computer, you could transfer to a USB stick and then to the machine. If you're not a computer person, you might have a friend put them on a USB for you.

I just bought this machine. Tonight I used it for the 2nd time. It kept shredding the thread. It would make a noise then the thread would start shredding. I went to rethread the machine and at the top on #4 there was something white and I couldn't thread. Could you help me?

My local embroidery shop is trying to sell me the Brother NQ1600E and tells me it's better to buy from them since they get it directly from the manufacturer instead of buying it online (amazon or walmart) since those are made of plastic pieces instead of metal good quality parts like the ones they have. What do you know about this?

That is how they sell them cheaper. Have brought a machine home and had the stitch selector break off. Similar issues with their junk. Won't even go through their doors anymore.

Why did you put stabilizer on the top verses underneath?

Water soluble stabilizer on top is essential to prevent thread (stitches) from sinking into the nap of fabric (towels, robes, etc)

I searched authorized Brother dealers to find mine. I called the dealer and they shipped in to me free. It was $1499 plus tax. Every dealer had it for the same price.

LaChelle1962 I'm pretty sure this is an embroidery only machine, so no, one wouldn't be able to make any masks with this machine although Brother does have a lot of other machines that sew and embroider

There are in-the-hoop mask designs you can make with an embroidery-only machine.

Yes, several digitizers have created "mask designs" that you can purchase (several like OAD have free ones) that you can make "in the hoop". A 5x7 will only fit a small child, but a 6x10 will fit the average adult.
