Thank you for posting this video. I have embroidered a lot of things with this machine and never sewn on it, but today I'm learning to sew on it.

Thank you very much, the detail explanations of everything. I see that Bernina. I want one but I’m worried that I can’t learn how to use. I see so many machines for sell. What gives?

I know this reviews over year old .I just want to know what your thoughts are on the machine cuz I'm looking to purchase this machine either this weekend or next

Indeed, the quilt show where I bought this machine just happened again, marking our one year annivesary together...and I was able to escape without buying another machine this time :) My opinions in the review still hold true after 1 year with this machine... I still don't like all of the things I didn't like then, and I still love the things I loved then... the machine performs just fine, tensions and stitching are still perfect, all the features execute perfectly on the first try.... the only thing I could complain about is that there is no true satin stitch, so if you want one, you have to alter a zig zag to be really tight... and the edges of the stitching are rather jagged and unclean when you do that.... I've since gotten a used Viking Designer SE (I've always wanted one and the dealer made an offer I couldn't refuse) and the satin stitches on that machine blow this one out of the water... but it has its own quirks... there's no perfect machine, they all do something better than the others (which is why I have 7!).... I do find that I sitll tend to embroider on my Bernina because it gives me more editing power.... I also tend to use it more for heavy and thick things because it's more robust, but when I want a drama free machine for regular sewing, I go to this one... I really enjoy the auto pivot feature for sewing up to pins even though it was made for turning corners... I still haven't upgraded the foot pedal yet... I did consider uprading to the next series up (the V sereis, DreamWeaver/Creator), but they use the same stitch formation and feed system as this machine, so there wasn't much incentive... there is no reason not to buy this machine if you are happy with its feature set!

Spamnot Nospam thank you so much. I truly appreciate your view. this will be my 3rd machine.lol it was between this and the Vikings topaz 50.

A girl after my own heart, if I were to buy a new Viking it would likely be the Topaz as well... the features are very similar (auto pressure, thread cutter, small but color screen, embroidery capable, but with some limitations on editing, extra light under the harp)... you have good taste :) I'm scared of newer Vikings since the Singer/Viking/Pfaff merger (SVP), I just don't know if the quality would be the same... the Viking I got was the last one made in Sweden before the SVP merger, so I still trust its quality, though finidng parts may be an issue in the future... but one thing that surprised me about Vikings is that you can only adjust the stitch length in 1/2 millimeter increments... that's a pretty big jump and soemtimes, I like a little more control than that... they free motion wonderfully and satin stitch beautifully, but to lack that level of control for simple straight stitching is pretty insane... Were both machines at the same dealer or were they different places? I've not needed much in the in the way of dealer support with the NQ3500D, I did stop by once after the purchase to buy a smaller embroidery hoop because the 2 that come with the machine are too enormous for anything I do, but I was able to figure everything out myself... and I didn't have to read the manual to do it (though I did for "fun").... Brothers are very intuitive and not picky or persnickety, I know what to expect from them, so that's what I like.... and you can't beat that threader... it's the best feature on the machine! What made you decide on the Brother over the Viking?
@foxqueenhoperip7 жыл бұрын
Spamnot Nospam I think we're on the same page. one of the reasons why I'm hesitant on the Viking is because it's sold at Jo-Ann's,and they have to ship your Viking out to be service. I feel like I'm going to go for the brothers and just enjoy it. Maybe buy some magnetic embroidery hoops.lol.

Thank you for the info. I am planning on getting a brother combo machine and i like this. Can you please tell me how much you paid for this?
@Aleroluver7 жыл бұрын
2500 dollars! there's a newer model out with a bigger screen (nq3600d instead of 3500d), but it doesn't seem to have much new except the screen .... which looks horrible in my opinion, it's an ugly lump sticking out the side of the machine... but they might put this model on sale to eventually to make room for the newer one :)

Spamnot Nospam wow! It's a lot! But yes hopefully they will cut down the price. I need to wait and look into their machines. Thanks.

+Josie Morena It's a good bit of money, but sewing is my passion, so it was worth it to me... I'm not rich, but I have a tiny apartment, I don't have cable, I'm careful, so I tend to splurge on sewing since it's so important to me... I didn't want to pay it all at once, so I paid half with cash and financed the other half with a 0 percent interest thing they were doing through Synchrony bank... and it raised my credit! I paid it off early... but that might be an option for you... also, these machines are a couple years old now and I've seen used ones at my dealer pretty heavily discounted as people upgrade to the V series (dream weaver, Dream creator, or even dream machine)... but they've also come out with a newer lower end "baby" version of this machine that replaces the long loved SE400.... it even has a color screen! it only does a 4x4 embroidery field, but that's really all you need if you're just starting... I have 3 embroidery machines (Brother, Bernina, and Viking) and I only embroider twice a year lol. The things I wanted wth this machine were a metal internal frame and adjustable pressure foot pressure and an electronic foot lifter and color screen... that's why I didn't get a lower model...

I believe you can lift the foot pedal with the the knee lift hands free.

You have to zoom in and show us what you're doing on the screen because it doesn't mean anything unless we can visually see what you're doing

Help! Brand new to this machine and the screen is stuck on a loop of what it can do, just like a picture slide show… won’t let me click any buttons!
@Aleroluver2 жыл бұрын
Hood down the key under the screen that had a presser foot with arrows going in a circle for a few seconds... If that doesn't work, it needs trip to the shop 😊
