Brother PR series embroidery machine Main Motor Lock error

Brother PR600, PR600II, PR620, PR650, PR650e, PR655, PR1000, PR1000e, PRS100 embroidery machines.
Main Motor Lock. (Better turn off machine first.) Maybe threads tangled or broken needle stuck inside the bobbin hook.
Here are steps you can try to solve the problem without bringing back to the dealer.
1. remove the bobbin case.
2. remove the needle plate.
3. put a few drops of oil from the top of the bobbin hook.
4. Try slowly turn the handwheel on the back of the machine to help release it,
5. repeat a few more times, if you really can't release it better bring it to the dealer. (Do not remove any screw from bobbin hook, it will cause timing problem.)

What if there's still threat stuck on the side cant be reached. The wheel in the back is stuck.

You will need to remove the sewing arm bottom cover. There are two screws underneath. Best way to clean is remove the whole sewing arm cover. Don’t listen to some stupid technicians that told you to remove cutting blades (they should be called Fixed Knife and Movable Knife). Once you removed the knifes, the timing of thread trimming will need to be corrected. If you still having problems, found me on my Facebook page.

I got a main motor encoder error on my pr620 last night and it got stuck, then I manually moved the needle up and was able to turn off and on the machine and start again but same error after squealing and doing maybe 2 very slow stitches.

Main Motor encoder error is different than this " Main motor lock " video. 1. Open machine cover. Clean the main shaft clear film (encoder). 2. unplug the encoder cable from the main PCB board, clean the connector and re-plug to main PCB. 3. If problem still not fixed. Then replace the encoder.

Hi Tony, I have been having this problem over the last couple of days. I have followed your instructions but we're still having issues. Part way though a design, the presser foot and needle gets stuck in the lowered position and jams up. Any ideas would be very welcomed. Thank you.

Tony I am having an error that says machine needle motor locked have you ever heard of this ?

Needle case motor locked happens when machine is going to switching needle and get stuck. Turn off machine and turning the hand wheel on the back to force it releases any stuck. Turn on machine again machine should back to normal. If problem still, means more serious problem caused needle case hitting and broken racks will need to disassembles machine to find out.

I need help putting mine back in time, i had this motor lock come up..and another tech told me to take the hook off.so i did cleaned behind it, and of course can not get it back in time, i called a local tech to come out, gave him 200.00 and he did not fix it..it is still out of time...

The tech who told you to remove the bobbin hook isn't a good technician. You need an experienced certified technician correct timing for you. None experienced technician may take more than a week for correcting the timing. (Labor cost will be a lot.) If both technicians are Brother certified technicians. Report them to Brother and send them your receipt, ask Brother to fix your machine .

he ripped me off 200.00 coming out and "fixing it"..he is normally a tajima tech at my work...thank you i have tried to get it back in time but it is still looping, it runs pretty good now messed with it last night and today, but it is still throwing a loop when stitchin
