Hello, there is no need to remove the axis to unlock the pillar, otherwise you have to synchronize it is enough to use a penetrating oil, and moreover this machine does not have a metal frame, everything is attached to the plastic cover, Brother have changed for about two years, they no longer manufacture the machines without the frames, there are still a few in stock at the dealers, they are recognized by their rounded shape but this does not prevent regular lubrication at the level of the pillars to prevent the pillars from locking and turning at the same time as the axis

I have this exact machine and it will not reverse stitch. I looked into what you did and that isn’t the problem. only the shaft is turning as it should. What else could it be? This machine is a hand me down, and with it, I was given a spring and a 4 inch long L-shaped metal bar with three possible hooks at each end, but I have no idea where it goes now that it’s been taken out. Do you have photos of the inside of this machine so I can compare what’s missing from mine? I’ve searched the Internet, and I have only found videos that are too fuzzy to see all the little parts.
