This is a nikka night track from the intro alone, the flute is your whistle/pigeon call to your Fam to head out... the 'reverse scratch' is the chaos for the night to come. The nostalgia in the music no matter West or East Coast rhythmically the story plays out. Party all night, get your boo, get in a fight, eat pancakes/waffles at dawn. *When it comes to the music the piano plays it's role... this is where Music Appreciation comes in. The piano sound is that of a Western Saloon bar where fights/battles would take place, hence wardrobe. Those chords may sound disruptive but it's giving Ray Charles, Juice Crew - The Symphony (TELÉFONO Remix intro as well), Black Street - No Diggity.... Sticker is actually the song that finally convinced me to stan NCT for life. One of the most courageous and creative K-pop songs, ever. And it won more music show and other awards than anything else they've done for that very reason. So get over Jamal--who can't help being so devastatingly perfect--and enjoy the jazz influenced flava. Your friend is absolutely right, take it from someone who grew up in a house full of jazz musicians. What they did on this song is extremely clever. It's just not something you hear often especially because it's from genres that aren't often introduced into K-pop. I literally leapt out of the shower to run and find out who the heck was brave enough to do a song like that when I heard it in a playlist one morning. And that, as they say, was that. you gotta be balls deep into the "neoism" to get sticker tbh nct and especially 127 + Dem Jointz push your "ear" to digest/ properly process this type of music and be into more experimental music. it takes a bit to train your taste but ultimately you become more open-minded or receptive to music or sounds that are out of the ordinary or definitely not commercial/easy sounding. not that there's anything wrong with a bop that hits from the get go and is super catchy in a "normal" way, but this is just different than what you'd hear on the radio or from any other viral music. they got their own blueprint and sound despite having such a diverse discography and that's so hard to achieve. very few groups or artists unlock this "power" also, no one could pull this off in kpop or just in general tbh. anyone else doing "Sticker" would not work or click because this is just _them_
