The thing with NCT's super experimental title tracks (2 baddies for example) is that they're super silly and sound pretty weird, but that's kinda the point. once i accepted that then i was able to just have fun and enjoy the songs way more, bc they're super catchy. Sticker is insane, and i know so many people that hate it, but i love it because the intrumental is so crazy that it's catchy.

I love the Killing Voice and this is one of my fav boy group episode. They are such a tight unit and always excel when they perform (in any setting!). You will see once you get into watching live performances and concert footage. On the quality...there is some post production on those recordings but it still impressiv how good they are singing live. Especially Taeil, Doyoung (black leather jacket next to Mark), Heachan (pink hair), Jungwoo (fluffy hair, beige jumper) and Jaeyhun (deeper voice on the right) are vocalists who are born to SING. Yuta (blond next to Heachan) is also a great vocalist just never gets enough lines to show off his vocals. His voice has such a unique colour. I am waiting for SM to give him more opportunities. Then Mark and Taeyong (white hair), they can do it all but mainly rap. And last but not least there is Johnny (left hand side) whose vocals provide the glue to their harmonies with his warm deep tone. In the last albums he has been singing more which we love to hear. SM Entertainment spends more time on vocal training for their idols then most of the other companies. Not just at time of training but throughout their career. I think Johnny is a good example of how much you can improve your singing with training and technic.

Hello i just came from your ateez its you video. Omg you are funny and like the music also. So glad I found your channel. Ive been an multistan of different kpop groups and solo artists since 2018. There is alot more people you could get into which is great. I suggest dpr ian if you havent gotten into him yet. I love all his music. Their is an storyline through his music also which would be could to see you react to. I suggest groups as p1harmony, onlyoneof,shinee,got7,red revelet, itzy, lessarafirm, mamamoo,seventeen,mcnd,enhypen ect. For solo artist if you havent yet; sam kim, changmo, bibi, ph-1,dean, tabber, mokoyo, sik-k, ash island, penomeco, Johnny brown,ect. I will make an better list later if you want. I also advise looking at intros to groups those are helpful for you to learn about the people in the group, how ghey make the music, their concept or storyline(each kpop group has one unless they say other wise), and how you can find your bias or person/people you connect or like out the group. Sometimes you might just like the whole group which is nice also. So glad you got into kpop and welcome to the joy and fun that is the msuic that transcends genre, gender,age,and language. I love nct but let's be real here there is a lot of post-production on dingo killing voices. I mean we know from behind the scenes video's that the boys are in a completely silent room singing live probably guided by their in-ears and then the extra harmonies in the back track or little mess-up's are corrected in post. But we also know nct can sing this this good live, just a few weeks ago we saw them perform on the end of year shows where you could literally hear their chains banging againts the mics and the vocals were still on point even with really difficult choreo. I love praising good vocalist, and they absolutely are but this is not exactly a 'raw live' vocal. (kpop idols are nutoriuosly know to sing over back tracks that just drown out the live vocals)

The only “raw” vocals you may ever hear are accapella. 😂 Killing Voices feature live vocals, not raw ones. I don’t believe anyone is pretending otherwise. When you go through a professional mixing board you’re going to try to make the voices sound as good as possible, especially along with the music. I figure all of these, from EXO on down, have additional backing vocals as part of the mix. You’re right that some mistakes are fixed in post, but I don’t believe that things like pitch controllers are allowed. If you can sing, this is your chance to prove it. These guys can sing.

yes, there is post-production, still less than for "It's Live" or other similar shows. for raw vocals, it's better to look for encores (except for the music core, because their back tracks are always too loud and live singing is barely audible), nct's recording behind series or acapella compilations

because EN is not my first language maybe what I meant was not clear. NCT are amazing singers I know that. I just wanted to bring up that we almost never get to hear unprocessed vocals, wich is completly fine. Also singer having to lipsinc or use a backtrack is completely understandable for sertain situations. with raw vocals i meant it more like we don't get to hear full vocal dynamics and imperfections often, wich I think is a shame cause it adds a lot of charm. Just wanted to talk about it because so many people don't understand this and will uphold unrealistic standard be it for the idols at all times or be it for themselves if they have an interest in singing.

@@livelifekids I agree with you when it comes to unprocessed vocals, but in this day and age that’s a bit of an unrealistic expectation. What I will say is that the guys in 127 don’t seem to rely on a whole lot of that. I think you referred to the KV behind the scenes vid where you can hear 4 of them sing their lines “dry” (and straight into the mics), and they sound just like the record. I’ve also heard these guys hit some hilariously off key notes during performances. (I believe Haechan has even mentioned dealing with pitch issues.) That’s why audience fancams can often be valuable. I’ve found that the more you listen to this particular KV the less “perfect” it sounds; “2 Baddies” sounds downright ragged at times, especially towards the end. 😄

20:04 I’ve been frustrated watching you compliment Doyoung’s voice in your NCT reactions yet never calling out his name because those color coded lyrics were inaccurate. (Not your fault obv) But yeah, his name is Kim Doyoung. He’s got that high soprano voice and his vocal color matches well with the rappers so you’ll hear him in songs like Light Bulb and Yestoday (NCT U). He’s my fav since I’m a sucker for vocals. He’s the second best vocalist in all of NCT after Taeil but not by a large difference. He’ll be having a solo album later this year too so look out for that!
