Glad to hear you interview Tim Wise. Been really enjoying the activist episodes. Keep it up 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I gotta say though... to seem to say that going against the status quo often makes someone find more friends or family is just a privileged lense... It's a real blind spot in this interview I think... Often activists find themselves lonely... white ppl don't have solidarity around justice at large... I keep playing Paul Pena's One for the Lonely "everybody is trying to go in their own direction. When they meet they talk about united, but they only want intersection"... I find most intellectual conversations lacking on the ground experience, what is actually happening... no longer can we all do our own thing and expect change... We must demand it for the sake of humanity 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Brother Ali 🎉 !!!! Okay I’m so excited! This episode made me feel comfortable with my questions. I was at my girlfriends home and her mom made mention like, “ya but your white” commenting that at least I have a leg up. I responded sayin, yes I do have an unearned advantage (shout out Jane Elliot term from a different podcast episode) or white privilege BUT your black. I have nothing to be proud of, what can I say that makes me proud of white? …. She couldn’t come up with something to be proud of and I knew there wasn’t. Definitely shocked her with the question. I’ve even asked my moms in an argument about what is there to be proud of? You catch so much from asking or speaking up or having passion or convection on that obviously wrong yet beneficial to you. The hard part is I can’t articulate the message truly yet. And people just get everything but open and loving. Tim - loved your story about question your identity and the. Seeing how you were defined/intensifying yourself. It gave more depth to the concept of when someone believes there superior there lost because without the inferior there no one. ❤ Glad you got over your cold Beother Ali, question… are prayers non-linear. So if you recorded this way before I hear it with a cold, then I hear it and pray for your health, does it still count or come to you? I don’t believe times linear so, yes? BK1! Hope alls good!!! 🔥
