Merle was good friends with some of our family, I was invited to go but my wife at the time raised hell, so I didn't go. I should had left that bitty and went. Major regret for sure. I've been divorced from that bitty for 19 years now. LOL. My Dad has been gone 11 years now. I sure wished I spent that Christmas eve. @RobertHampton7475 жыл бұрын
My duet with Johnny Paycheck was a Country Christian song called "I Love My Jesus" written by Terry Parkerson released on Air Records for radio airplay only. It's purpose was to get me noticed by the industry and signed to a recording contract. You can find the song on KZbin but there is another Robert Hampton that also shows up so add Paycheck to my name in the search.
@RobertHampton7475 жыл бұрын
@Frank Roth It did help me in some ways. I was being talked about all over Nashville, music industry people were asking who is this Robert Hampton that's recording with Paycheck. They were told "He must be somebody or he wouldn't be recording with PayCheck." I was in the process of talking with a record label owned by Vision Television Network out of Conway Twitty's Twitty City. But then they had a 10 million dollar embezzlement that derailed that. Also a couple others expressed interest but turned out to be a big money game. I did get to sing with the first runner up to Miss America Miss Georgia Kara Martin and on live TV and at the Crystal Cathedral. But I came home to Oregon because of an evil greedy person and I'm glad I did. It's a cut throat business.
@staceypitzer67174 жыл бұрын
My favorite country song and I love the way he slowed it down from original recording. The reason it's my favorite is that is exactly what it does is sing me back to when my family was still alive and at grandpa's house and I was youngest child and didn't go to river with all the men. Age 3. This song was third song on 8 track of various songs so it would go to next trrack and play two songs and I would click click click back to track one and hear it again. I was in the room off the kitchen where the females were cooking. They never caught me. Look.

I have been reading some comments on this A denim Concert; I am smiling as I write this I to recognize a mellow Willie though his eyes seem to be pleading to Paycheck Hold it together man. Willie's guitar is singing and Merle is just trying to play his music man. 35 years for me too. Though I have never been to Aneheim I was right there.
