What happens when two brothers who build super high-end classic German vehicles get together on a project? You get this: A crazy clean Porsche 550 Spyder. But this ain't no ordinary 550... this one's been chopped up, modded for a center seat, and given the usual John Sarkisyan treatment with impeccable interior and an engine that's been built to 200hp and gold plated. Here's a news flash for all of the critics on here that don't like his design choices - He doesn't care if you like the color or his choice of rims. He built the car for himself and if he likes it that's all that matters. The car is designed to show off his skills as a designer/builder. If you want one in a different color pay him to build you one and pick your own colors.

I really enjoy how the builder always has a microfiber towel in his hands touching things up as he walks around. You can really tell how much pride he has in his work, and the love that he puts into the builds. It's amazing to have that level of intimacy with something you have created. Not supposed to plate or paint and engine or transmissions. Doing so will keep it from cooling normally. The plate, or the paint ack as a blanket, keeping the engine from dissipating heat. Since the 60's to the 90's Chevrolet used to paint their engines orang, to hide the flaw of welds, from when piston punched out from the side. To hide weld and the grind Mark's, the engine expanded when and the welds would bust again. Had a neighbor who had a 1987 Camaro and every year he replaced the engine. 1 time he got the same blue 1 twice. The orange was like 6 times. In 6 year period, before he junked it

John Anthony , yeah! The smoke and unsync’d carbs really took away from the refinement the rest of the car shows. The sound and the smoke took me right back to my 73 914 2.0 with Weber 44’s. I think if he kept the carb look but run injection. That would make this car complete.

Hello Larry , not every car in Europe has a full leather interior. Even the large Mercedes come with velour interior. This is all but not weird. The quality is very good and lasts forever. It shows that you know very little about cars in general. To call a velour interior being weird is quite rude. Better stick with things you know more about. 😊

3:00 Mercedes had (and still has) a special department where you can go and demand any material, color, anything. There's stories about some people wanting all silk or certain fabrics "like a towel". All fabric/cloth might've been for some hot place, or maybe the first owner just didn't like the feel of leather. Nothing too far out of the ordinary though.

I'd love to build a 550 coupe replica for a daily driver with a lightweight removable hardtop. Keep the old school look & a simple build but with some modern upgrades. Since it's lightweight it could be fast but still get decent mpgs. Use a turbo inline 4 if it would fit or a turbo e85 air cooled VW build making around 200hp with 6 speed manual, 6th being OD to sip gas on the hwy...I'd want the turbo just so it'd be more engaging to drive. So you can feel & hear the turbo noises. Hopefully keep the car under 2000 lbs.

The original 550RS Spyder optionally could be equipped for racing with a monocoque windscreen as on this car, only displaced to the left for true LHD. In that case, the passenger side was covered with an aluminum close fitting tonneau. My 550 was so equipped. The 550RS was not ever equipped with a head faring, despite what you may see on one of the repro cars and on this car. The head faring was not introduced until Porsche discontinued the 550, after they produced about 90 of them, in favor of the 550A, which was very different from the 550 under the skin. Only about 30 of the 550A version was produced.

there a lot small details not fit, for example the rivets for chrono plate, screws for hood belts or rings for airinlet on rear hood... one is pop rivt, secoundary crossslot slot scres and 3th only two hex head bolts??? why you dont take aircraft universal head rivets thats looking unified (you can anodize rivets in orange or polish it too) and the fan for oilcooler , do anybody touching them or why the plastic grill? take fat big cupper cooler from PC(computer) or any cupper tube cirly etc... remove f**king black plastic there

This makes no sense. If you don't have three seats, what is the advantage of a center seat? Besides, it makes passing another car on a two way road much more dangerous. Both Ferrari 365 P and Murray's McLaren had three seats, besides with three seats you can play the Italian stallion with a blonde on port side and a beunette on starbord.
