11:21 Fun fact, Valens, in Italian, is called Valente, that means "The one who has (military) Valor" Truly a fitting name for a valorous ship

Yeah, she accounted for 2 CAs, an assist with a BC, and at least 1 CL. Pretty good day of work for her.

I was so excited to see NINE releases today, but then I realized this has to somehow last me until the new year. My desire to binge is in direct competition with my desire to have more BM content next week 🤣

I'm running a vanilla campaign of dreadnoughts, currently on 1917, and the germans built basically the exact same battlecruiser that we saw here! same 13" guns, same turret layout, same funnel arrangement, same towers, and even the same flash fire problems.

Another thought I've had about DiP is if you have eliminated all minor nations then you should do some work towards equalizing the major nations, especially in terms of how large your dockyard space can be. I have noticed in this campaign you barely have 200K tons while at a similar time in Vanilla playing the US i have over 900k tons. It clearly places a limit on how many ships you can either build, repair or refit at one time. The AI has enough advantages as is.

Battle of the Yellow Sea, Part 2 10:00: Konstantinoúpoli Kathimeriná Néa ε.Κ. 5/7/7430, A.D. 5/7/1922 The Grind Only the Derfflinger and Freya had been sunk. Poseiden was engaging Mackensen and Hindenburg while Valens was engaging Prinz Adalbert and Admiral Graf Spee. The lighter ships were either withdrawing with damage or reloading their torpedoes. Occasional German torpedoes went through the formation without hitting. Roman torpedoes on the other hand had been significant in sinking both Derfflinger and Freya. Valens got solid 8” hits on Prinz Adalbert, taking out her main tower, all three funnels, and two engines. Prinz Adalbert had flooding forward and 268 casualties reported. The next salvo from Valens and Prinz Adalbert began to flood aft. Prinz Adalbert took a final flooding hit and sank with 984 of her 1185 man crew. Valens bounced a hit from Admiral Graf Spee before getting the range herself, doing significant damage on her main tower and third funnel and destroying her secondary tower. Valens tanked 13” shells from Mackensen, who was out of range of Poseiden, and Valens continued to pound on Admiral Graf Spee. Eleutherios, Lemnos, Pipinos, Thassos, and Katsonis reported their torpedo launchers at 50% reloaded and no significant damage. They were recalled to the fight. Meanwhile Admiral Graf Spee was being flooded fore and aft by shells from Valens and Mackensen was being hit by Poseiden. Finally Admiral Graf Spee was sunk with 1043 of her 1185 man crew. Valens added her 8” fire against the Mackensen. Mackensen sank with 1002 of her 1072 man crew. Poseiden and Valens targeted Hindenburg. Katsonis was also in range and able to damage the Kampfkreuzer with her 7” guns. Hindenburg was soon flooded forward past her mid line, unable to fire any but her port wing gun, had all three engines disabled, fires on the ship, and over three hundred casualties. Another bulkhead breached and water spread further aft. That compartment filled, and the next bulkhead breached. Hindenburg sank with 911 of her 1072 man crew. Cormoran and Karlsruhe were left. Thassos and Katsonis were engaging them, Thassos launching her second round of torpedoes at Cormoran. Cormoran took a 16” shell that nearly finished her, flooding six compartments. A 6” shell from Katsonis and a seventh compartment flooded. Poseiden switched her fire to Karlsruhe and blew her out of the water with two hits, Karlsruhe losing 404 of her 432 man crew. The badly flooded Cormoran took a final flooding hit from Valens and sank with 398 of her 432 man crew. Valens had been in the heat of the fight, and taken 94 casualties, with nine treated and returned to duty. Particeps took 68 with 13 returned to duty. Eleutherios took 33 with 2 returned to duty. Zakynthos took 29 casualties and Lemnos took 26. Pineios-13 took 20 casualties with 2 returned to duty. Thassos took 18 casualties with 2 returned to duty. Pininos and Romulus-1 each took 2 casualties. 760 Germans were picked up after the battle.

Third Battle of Nampo 34:10: Konstantinoúpoli Kathimeriná Néa ε.Κ. 9/7/7431, A.D. 9/7/1922 Was she just late to the battle? The Seydlitz class Kampfkreuzer Saxony arrived off the port of Nampo, perhaps expecting to rendezvous her sister ship Lippe. Instead she found the the Poseiden, lead of her class of Katadromiká máchis, the Rodos class Kynigós Katadromikó Thassos, and the Papanikolis class Kynigós Katadromikó Pipinos, cleaning up the transports supporting the German invasion. They were rather battered, and Eleutherios had been sent for repairs. Perhaps thinking the Roman ships must be low on ammunition and damaged, Saxony closed anyway. Saxony fired first but Poseidon immediately replied. Poseidon got the first hits, but Saxony had sighted the Thassos and Pipinos and targeted them. Thassos and Pipinos however were now in range with their 6” guns. Saxony took more hits from Poseidon and then, lost her aft turrets. At least one turret’s crew managed to evacuate. Saxony’s main tower was blown away, her B turret destroyed, she was beginning to flood, and she had 180 casualties reported. Saxony tried to torpedo the Thassos and Pipinos, but missed. They missed firing back. Saxony however was taking more shell hits, lost all three engines, and with one more salvo broke apart, losing 791 of her 955 man crew. Thassos lost 12 of her crew with 5 returned to duty. On Poseidon 20 men left sick bay and 3 returned to duty on Pipinos. The Deutsche Völksmarine has been reduced to seven Gepanzerkreuzer, with two ships under repair and thirty-two under construction.

What would really be cool ,is if the tech level could go past Mk5, to at least Mk7

i do have a question for the nerds here this i like the 5th ship named furst bismarck that was sunk during the game is giving the same name (not class name) to multiple ships common if a ship with that name is sunk?
@BrotherMunro15 сағат бұрын
Yes there’s a mechanic where previous ships can lend their names to later ones

Battle of the Yellow Sea, Part 1 00:00: Konstantinoúpoli Kathimeriná Néa ε.Κ. 5/7/7430, A.D. 5/7/1922 A New Germany, a New Strategy? The monarchy in Germany has been overthrown, and a federal republic declared, the Bundesrepublik Deutschland. It will be interesting just what rights as citizens of this new republic the Chinese people under German occupation will be afforded. But on the subject of Asia, the new Deutsche Reichsmarine has decided to switch from losing ships in the Black Sea and Adriatic to trying to win battles in the Yellow Sea. To this end they have directed three Hindenburg class Kampfkreuzer armed with five twin 13”/45 Mk2 gun turrets, three on the centerline, one forward and two aft but not super firing, and two wing turrets, giving them an eight gun broadside and six gun chase armament, with a 25 knot speed, 1072 crew, and eighteen 5.2” casemate guns. They had three turrets and an utterly rediculos triple 5.2” turret tucked between the main tower and the first funnel. Details on their armor is not available, but it is improved Krupp cemented. These were the Hindenburg, Derfflinger, and Mackensen. Accompanying them is three Q-class Gepanzerkreuzer, Prinz Adalbert, Admiral Graf Spee, and Freya, and two München class Leichter Kreuzer, Cormoran and Karlsruhe. Admiral Graf Spee was involved in the one success of the Kaiserliche Marine, the sinking of three Antitorpiliká in January. Aware of the German concentration in Asia, the Aftokratorikó Romaïkó Naftikó gathered a force around the Poseiden, lead of her class of Katadromiká máchis, from the Chemulpo Naftikó Stathmó in Korea. From Chemulpo also came three Rodos class Kynigoí Katadromiká, the Particeps, Eleutheriosm, and Thassos, and the Papanikolis class Kynigós Katadromikó Pipinos. From Nampo Naftikó Stathmó in Korea came two more Rodos class Kynigoí Katadromiká, Lemnos and Zakynthos. From the Pusan Naftikó Stathmó in Korea came the Romulus class Antitorpilikó Romulus-1 and the Pineios class Antitorpilikó Pineios-11. From the Magong Naftikó Stathmó in Penghu came the Justinian class Varý katadromikó Valens, from the Sasebo Naftikó Stathmó in Kyūshū came the Papanikolis class Kynigós Katadromikó Katsonis, and from the Keelung Naftikó Stathmó in Formosa came the Pineios class Antitorpilikó Pineios-13. Poseiden would hold at range and engage the three Kampfkreuzer from 21 kilometers, well outside the 16 kilometer range of the Hindenburgs. Zakynthos would lead Lemnos, Particeps, Thassos, Katsonis, Pipinos, and Eleutherios with Valens trying to catch up. Valens would play a critical part later in the battle. Romulus-1, Pineios-13, and Pineios-11 would charge forward, scout the enemy formation, and attempt to disrupt it with torpedo strikes. The enemy was sighted to the north-west and all three groups turned east to open their broadsides and allow stragglers to get into formation. Poseiden opened fire first. It was Romulus-1 who took the first hit. She was ordered to make smoke, launch torpedoes at her first opportunity, and break away from the battle. She did, sending four torpedoes into the German formation, aiming for the Derfflinger. Pineios-13 and Pineios-11 were ordered to do the same with their complement of three torpedoes, and target the third Kampfkreuzer, the Hindenburg. Romulus-1’s first torpedo hit the Hindenburg. This set of the forward 13” powder magazine and launched her forward turret into the sky on a column of blue flame, trailing smoke and yellow flame of its own. Once the Antitorpiliká passed behind Zakynthos the Kynigoí Katadromiká were able to launch their own torpedoes. The Gepanzerkreuzer were closing hard led by Freya. Lemnos was hit by a 13” shell and ordered to retire. Freya took a torpedo hit from Pineios-11, followed soon after by two more from Zakynthos, one however a dud. Freya began to flood fore and aft. Particeps also took a 13” flooding hit and retired from the line. Most of the division had launched torpedoes and pulled back to regroup. Valens was up and ready to engage, her eight 8” guns against the combined six 9.4” guns of the three German Q-Class. Freya however took another two torpedoes from Particeps and sank with 1148 of her 1185 man crew. Prinz Adalbert was up next. Valens was engaging her as Eleutherios turned away, covering the retreat of her division with her last torpedo launch. Prinz Adalbert took a torpedo but it was a dud. Poseiden was still engaging Derfflinger, who was now flooded aft with one compartment forward filling, with engines disabled, one turret destroyed, her 4.6” secondary guns without ammunition, and 222 casualties reported. Then Derfflinger took a torpedo hit from Pipinos and blew up, losing 985 of her 1072 man crew. The first of three. Mackensen was next in line. Cont’d
