Its nice to hear this perfect tribute to my brothers in arms and I agree 100% with every word and thank you so much Mark Knopfler, all the comments or at least all I read are peaceful and kind maybe bittersweet but not hateful and that's the most important thing, hatred is what is used to turn brother against brother and as president Johnson said , "war is always the same it is young men dying in the fullness of their promise, it is trying to kill a man that you don't even know well enough to hate , therefore to know war is to know there is still madness in the world". My hope is that one day there will be no more madness!! Being or feeling as a "brother in arms" as really little to do with war or armed conflict.... my closest friends, as well as my real 3 brothers are all my "brothers in arms"... and none of us never fought any war... But these guys, they count on each other and they count on us... it just happens that those who actually did (fight a war) did it for their country and therefore, for the people of it... you, as well as I, are their "brothers (and sisters) in arms".... and this song is just wonderfully reminding me of that.
