As a dutch guy, it's awesome to see a WW2 game that takes place in the Netherlands. Just started Earned in Blood, but i can't wait to play Hell's Highway to see the portrayal of the city.

I have the 3 main games RTH30, EIB, and HH. Still play it from time to time and never got tired with it. Still waiting for the 4th one that will focus on battle of the bulge. Commanding Tanks are my favorite part of the game. My favorite lines: “Red, move fast” “Supress those Krauts” “Give me some armor over there” “HEAVY FIRE ON THAT ARMOR”

I miss the memorable stories and characters. I also miss the gameplay. Being able to control squads and come up with strategies on the fly made these games a lot of fun to play.

@@Analyze_This54 same, imagine the potential of this series to cover other fronts like the pacific or even do a modern version. Personally, between the 3 main games hells highway is my least favorite since the gameplay is nothing compared to the RTH30 and EIB, if HH kept the same mechanics of its predecessors, it would have been better. I’m just imagining a new brother in arms with unreal engine 5 and the mechanics of RTH30 and EIB or even add some open world where you interact with different soldiers from your squad or even different units.

Exactly! This story and the gameplay elements can still be used today. Having a game like this in modern times would be amazing. They could do so much more and make these things even better. It's a shame they don't. @@juleshidalgo5374

@@juleshidalgo5374 All three games have their pros and cons. Earned In Blood the most challenging by far. Hell's Highway less but still well worth it; many say the best of the three. Regarding the cover mechanic in HHwy it's always your choice to 'dig-in'. Also, the red screen can be deleted in Hwy. ie. Threat Effects. Cheers.

2008 was 16 years ago! What’s taking so long for Randy Pitchfork to develop brothers and arms battle of the bulge? The processing power is there. What’s the problem?

Fantastic, concise review. Played them forever starting with WinXP, 7,11. No Snow?#4. Instinct tells me it was a 'unique' Time and Team that produced these games unequaled by others. The Extras menu includes photographs of this talented, young, WWII-possessed production team. Most authentic. Cheers.

I bought Road to Hill 30 on the original Xbox back in 2018 at Buybacks during their closing sale and loved it. Back in June last year I finally got Earned in Blood at Half Price Books and just beat it a couple weeks ago. Brothers in Arms is the closest we're gonna get a Band of Brothers game.

Imo, the red screen when Baker is close to dying isn't a health regeneration system but more of the player being suppressed (unless you get burned by fire). I remember when I was 8, Baker's helmet got shot off and I was instanly in a critical state meaning I need to get tf down. Like Uncharted with Nate's luck ending on one bullet (grey screen), Baker's luck would end from one shot. Examples of said luck is when the bridge got destroyed and a beam almost impales Baker, surviving a tank shot that killed Leggett, surviving the mortar strike giving him the scar and the least amount of damage out of everyone in the cafe and lastly when the glass roof of the hospital caught a bomb just before hitting him. It's the same with 3rd squad, you'll be notified that they're under fire/suppressed and if one bullet hits them, they're down until the next checkpoint. This is just how I think the red screen works, you don't have to agree since this is just a subjective take on it.

The red screen in HHwy is called Threat Effect. It can be turned off in Gameplay options.

I miss these games a ton(the main line entries). I wish I had a way to still play them. I would love to see remasters of the originals and for them to finally give us the fourth installment to finish up baker’s story and for the fact that you know they were heading to the battle of the bulge when legget ask’s baker “do you like snow” and poof the series was gone

I want them to come back and make one more game! Finish it off with the Battle of the Bulge. I miss having games like this where you just simply play through the missions, but get to enjoy a great story and a great group of characters. I’d also love to see more shooters like this where you can command squads of soldiers under your command.

while the first two games in the series werent the best from a gameplay standpoint, Rendroc has made a mod for both to address this and many other issues, such as adding bots for multiplayer, i wish something like that existed for hells highway, i miss the multiplayer in that game, and id get a kick out of being able to play it with bots today.

I remember the mobile game BIA2, even had multiplayer, a legendary shooter that I always wished would come back. it was very strange mechanic wise, had its own currency where you would buy equipment and stuff. never played anything else like it.

Definetly check out Easy Red 2 it is alot like the brothers in arms series with battlefield like enviorments

Loved those games and replayed them almost constantly so the big downside was the unskippable cut scenes.

Cutscenes. In the first two games yes except for the last Chapter of Earned In Blood where there is none. In Hell's Highway every cutscene can be skipped After a complete playthrough. Chapters menu, select Objective. Handy. Cheers.
