Classic Rock , Imspiration to Santana , Peter Green The Best Guitarrist , Great Band !

Peter Green is legendary for all kinds of reasons, and I don't think I'm alone in thinking he manged to find the absolute sweet spot of tone and expression in his playing. Certainly one of the most important British guitar players of any era. His influence was carried forward most prominently by the likes of Gary Moore and Snowy White. The funny thing is that Peter Green and Danny Kirwan often sound quite similar so it's not always easy to tell them apart, but Danny tends to get overlooked. I think it's, If You Let Me Love You, from this concert that is a stunning performance, although my favourite Fleetwood Mac song is The Green Manalishi....

One of your better pics gentlemen, having followed Fleetwood Mac in there early years, I was very much aware that that was a Peter Green song, if I'm not mistaken, Carlos ask Peter Green if he could use that song, I got to see Peter Green with the splinter group at the Fillmore in Frisco. The guy was an absolute legend in my opinion

Others have mentioned the Green Manalishi, but I would add that it gained a new level of interest after being covered by Judas Priest!

This is not 1970 . The Boston Tea Party left Berkeley St and took over The Ark venue on Lansdowne St in the summer of 1969. The interior shown in the video is that old boxy synagogue on Berkeley St. So it's before the summer of 1969. The Tea Party closed for good at the end of 1970. 1968 through 1970, best of times.

Peter Green is in my top five, he played with so much emotion. He did a cover of B.B. King in New Orleans called I got A Mind To Give Up Living that's mind blowing. He also had some awesome guitar parts playing with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. I got to say that Danny was also a damn good guitar player. After Peter left the Mac, Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer were the axe men in the album Kiln House, which is worthy of a listen, damn good album.

This is great! A later version of FM, but really phenomenal is on KZbin: Fleetwood Mac/Lindsey Buckingham ~ I'm So Afraid ~ (Rosebud) Live 1976

This is the Fleetwood Mac that I love. Peter Green was brilliant, a very soulful guitarist and singer. Although many people love them, I personally never got into the Buckingham/Nicks version of FM. My fav of the Green Mac is "I Need Your Love So Bad". However, if you ever happen to check it out, don't bother with the live version from a TV show as they cut it off before his beautiful guitar solo - very disappointing. The audio is better.

If Peter Green invited an 18 year old to join his band damned right he was good! He lived in my home town and played occasionally but found the human contact too much of a strain to do very much. We have a blues/rock culture (even had Wilko Johnson, our own guitar hero) so Peter was much respected on the island even if he was a quiet and withdrawn man.
