I ran my 94 with a converter on street tires for a year before I finally gave up. Almost had to drive it like a stick car to get off the line.

What do you mean like a stick car? My 95 TA has a 383 with 3200 stall and gets off the line just fine at a stop light or at the track on street tires or drag radials.

@@Justin_Cider I didn't have the best street tires on. Some hard ass budget all season junk. I basically got the same 60 fts he got in the 2nd pass in the video. Couldn't get anything better than a 2.02 until I went to some radials.

@@bfromthed Yeah tires make a world of difference. My local track is strictly no prep street style drags on asphalt. No matter what tires you have there everyone spins off the line, even awd cars. My best 60' there is 1.8 still spinning a little on DR's. Doesnt matter how much power you have if you cant put it down to the ground. On street tires on the street, I cant get traction off the line no matter what I do.

@@Justin_Cider what are you using for a traction compound and how much weight you got over the rear tires? I got a buddy with a fox body that runs no prep on radials and drags the bumper. It's just set up for that kinda action.

@@bfromthed No traction compound allowed. Its a road course track and we race on the straight at Willow Springs International Raceway. Its all asphalt and you get 1 burnout and go to the tree. Almost stock weight. The only thing I have removed is the back seat. I have 15 x 10 in rear wheels and DR's on them. I have no real drag strip near me, they all got closed down.

@@strongspeedworks it doesn’t. And I bought an lt1 that I’m currently rebuilding for it. I just like seeing lt1 content because there isn’t really anything about them in comparison to gen 1 sbc or any ls stuff.

When I say in comparison I mean actual content for what they are capable of other than ticks grub worm. Mine is eventually getting a turbo but not anytime soon
