What size stall converter?
@wideopenthrottle11652 күн бұрын
So right now I've got 3000 stall and 3.23 gears and am running 13.6X at 100. Do you think I would shave ET more from 3.90 gear swap and keep the 3000 stall? Or keep the 3.23s and go with a 4000 stall?

Gears for sure.

I heard you comment about not upgrading the TB if you dont have a ported intake or a lot of power. What if im pushing around 410RW with a LE ported intake? Still run the stock 48MM? I have the change to get a 58MM for a trade but dont want to end up losing power.

If it’s ported, swap it over. You might gain 10hp.

that's pretty much my exact car(but I have a black top bar and red seat inserts. got it in 98, still have it. just been off the road for about 10 years, some odd noise, thought it tore the serpentine belt but looks good. thinking something with the clutch messed up. want to toss on heads/cam/exhaust/injectors and get it tunned - after I build a garage

Question... So, my car crackles a shit ton on decel. It sounds cool, but at the same time, it's a bit much. 😅 It's a constant pop/spit off throttle at speed no matter how long the decel. How would you adjust it so it doesn't do that quite as much? In certain situations, it would be nice if it wasn't so crackly if ya get me😅 24X 411 pcm hptuners LT1.

How do you scale the air flow effective area for lt1? On mine i commanded iac steps up until it stopped raising idle and took that and interpolated up to that point, and any steps beyond used the same number so it doesnt try to go to 320 or whatever the max is on it. I think mine ended up at 190

Did you "ZERO OUT" all the other "TIMING ADDERS" or take them into acct on the main timing table when you adjusted it? The TPI timing tables looks "LOW" at W.O.T, but it has a bunch of "ADDER" spark tables for temp, P.E, a lot of people don't know about or understand, etc.... I "ZERO'D" all the seperate "SPARK ADDERS" on mine and made the ECM run off just the main timing tables to "LOCK OUT" timing kind of like locking a dizzy out in ways... Makes spark tuning safer when first starting then you can make adjustments and add those temp, hiways, launch, P.E, spark adder tables back when you get it dialed in using just the main spark table.. I got a ZZ430 clone which is Fastburn Heads and LT4 Hotcam, 430 HP/TQ rated at GM but mine is pushing 440-450 due to more compression, 9.9:1 VS 9.6:1 GM rated theirs at... Where it is more efficient "QUICKER", I had to shoot for 12.5: 1 W.O.T to get her to stay around the 12.8 commanded P.E AFR because mine didn't wanna go below 13: 1 at 12.8 Commanded P.E.. The 1990-1992 is MAP Speed Density, sooooo much easier to tune, and if you have a EBL P4 you don't have to fool with "CHIPS" anymore... It's like a TPI computer banged a Holley and the EBL is it's "BABY"!! I had problems out of the Ford Red Top 30's, i sold mine and got some Accel 30lb, Closest running to factory TPI engines, and has 14.00 OHM like factory injector resistance vs 12.00 OHM on the Fords..

You're dead wrong on the opti thing dude!!! Don't go to your parts store and buy one!! Literally the last thing you should do!! Trust me don't do it!! I've learned my lesson!! And ill never buy anything BUT petris!!! The sensors are the problem!! And petris doesn't used shit Chinese sensors!!! They aren't rebuilt in China!! They are rebuilt using cheap Chinese sensors! The petris DOESN'T!! The petris come with MITSUBISHI grade or better sensors ( like factory units that were great) and they are all sealed and loktite on the screws!!! Also the early years are upgraded with ventilation!! My 92 corvette has a vented unit!! But you are right on them not being that hard of a job!! But i couldn't disagree more with you about the optispark thing!!! PETRIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY GOOD ONE ON THE MARKET!!! If you want to do the job over and over again then go to your local parts store!!! Yeah you have a lifetime warranty and you're also going to be changing them for the rest of your lifetime!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
@strongspeedworks26 күн бұрын
They all use an AIP sensor. Including the overpriced reboxed Chinese Petris lol.
@C4VETTELT126 күн бұрын
@strongspeedworks I haven't heard anyone with a cheap piece of crap like you're talking have ANY kinda luck!! But the petris I have only heard great results!!! A guy here on KZbin I talk to said he went through 3 optisparks in as many months puts in a petris and been running perfectly for over 4 years now!!! And me I was averaging replacing one every single year!! Never had one last longer than a few months!! And haven't heard ANYONE have ANY kind of luck with any cheap parts store paper weight!!! lmao
@strongspeedworks26 күн бұрын
@@C4VETTELT1open a Petris. See what’s inside. A cheap Chinese AIP sensor. “Mitsubishi grade” lol. If you really think there are multiple companies making optisparks for the LT1, you’re ignorant. It’s a reboxed eBay unit. Email them and ask them what sensor is inside. I literally deal with these every day. I’ve seen Petris take a dump. I’ve seen 50 dollar ones from eBay live. They’re all a gamble.

Not hard, just got to jump through a few more things, understand the backward thinking GM had back then... I tell anyone with the 1990-1992 speed density with the MAP sensor and no MAF to use the "EBL P-4" or convert their MAF cars to a speed density EBL.. 3 wire move i am told... No more "CHIPS TO BURN" and easy peezy, partially self tuning also and has programming for boost, nitrous, wideband, all kinds of goodies in it.
