I LOVE my 99 carbon x1. big bore kit for 1280cc and a little more giggle power. wheelies in 1 and 2nd gear almost with out asking but not scary. aside from the oddities of the xb bikes, its essentially the same bike as this to ride. 2 big analog gauges typical nake bike riding position super short wheel base and just a ton of fun. i got mine for stupid cheap all in all i got about 2k into mine and its in mint shape 16k miles. if you can work on your own bike, go buy one of these they are extremely cheap cause all the pansies are scared of them since shops dont like to work on them.

Love the LT1 content. Especially being a Firehawk. 🤩
I would not call 380whp cam only LT1 "low." That's one of the highest cam only LT1s I've seen. My car with a similar setup (GM847 CAM) made 360whp. same K&N and Jet Hot LT headers, but with a 3in true dual exhaust.

I'm from Oklahoma that race track had been there since the 70's. I was in school as a kid going to the race track even in High school. Now for the Race Track at the Fair Ground that track had been there since the 60's. My dad raced there remember being in the stand. I heard it shut down a few times because of the noise I enjoyed hearing the cars on a Saturday night. If I recall the Tulsa Driller Stadium and the Army Station down the road. It's been years since I've been back. I know it has grown know all the towns Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Collinsville, Owassa, just a few place. I know the towns around Tulsa pretty much know Oklahoma. Anyway thanks for sharing bought back memories. I still have family in Oklahoma being Cherokee. The Expo the Driller Bells Assessment Park is still there wow. Man it has changed I haven't been back in over 33 years.

Fun fact for the Fair Grounds Tulsa Speedway, It would pull almost 10k attendance in the stands weekly. However the 66st N. location only got around 1-1.5k weekly.

A pop in the intake at the very beginning is not a bug. I have the same one on my xb12xt 2008. At the same time, the motorcycle can stumble sharply, as it were. I almost fell while making slow maneuvers

I actually fixed it. Added some acceleration enrichment. Problem solved.

I know these have different injectors than my 99x1. but those are both lean spots and i wonder if you dont just have the beginnings of a dirty injector symptom. you should have them cleaned just in case over the off season. i bought myself a second set so I can send out the originals to be cleaned and flow tested w/o haveing to be without my baby to ride.

I have an XB12XX Ulysses Adventure Tourer that I've stripped back to try and emulate the look of the Lightning. 2007 one owner with only 12k on the clock. Factory fitted Race ECM, K&N Filter,Stainless Sports exhaust, The very uncommon Valencia Orange colour scheme which has the transparent airbox. Mine has the same induction pop as well. It's an absolute blast to ride. They're a bit of a Unicorn these days...I love it

Probably 10k The car is now turbo. The clutch is still kicking. On nitrous, I did 5k clutch dumps with zero slip. Excellent clutch. I’d buy it again.

Where's the turbo....yeah, i have low tolerance for low research, also. Last time i talked to you extensively, my gen 4 was planning an ls build. Realizing the nightmare, i stayed with the lt1. Got stung on a 3.75 stroker rotating assembly and waiting on recovery. Deal fell through on the ebay lt4 intake, so, I ordered afr 195's, found an lt4, $900, then called afr back and said 210lt4 heads. Katie and Scott are the best at AFR. TKX from Summit, and then bellhousing, Summit. Good customer service from them and shipping is like next day or 3 free. Summit again for a forged balanced stroker when that cash gets freed up. If anybody asks how much, they can't afford it. I did find a guy local for the tuning, next spring. Thanks for your channel. It helps with insite to trial and error.

i LOVE mine( 99 x1 ) but be ready to do all the work to it yourself cause shops dont want to touch them. and some parts are hard to find. but not impossible. the big problem i have with recommending this as a first bike is all the torque at very low rpm. it can get away from you if your not a little seasoned unless you are responsible with the throttle. everyones different so thats impossible to say but my advice is start out on a 400 anything like i did. plenty of power to feel fast for a while and you can resell it for what you paid for it probably as long as you buy a used 10 year old bike. but you wont get the sound anywhere else except a cruiser style bike.

I’m doing the 4x swap and running the opti ass a distributer, running e85 and 60lb injectors speed density and vortec procharger non intercoolerd setup. And would like more details on the flex sensor install you mentioned also what cam would you suggest for weekend warrior

Fun fact. These were originally supposed to be turbocharged and at some point they killed that idea. The first model year or two even have the passthrough on the left side of the frame that was intended for the piping. I always wanted an xb. Was mad at Harley for a long time for killing off the buells.
@davidlagno7717Ай бұрын
Now the younger generation loves big torque, low hp Buell would still be with Harley. V-twins have so much character when they rev higher. Buell is a Hell of an engineer. Sportbike guys just dominated the streets and market during that time period. It was when race reps came out for the public and they were cheaper and more exhilarating. Buell was ahead of his time. Sucks.
