This is a good example of how fusion should be done! Takes full advantage of the orchestral capabilities of western traditions (chords, counterpoints), all the while largely keeping the rAga chAya, sowkhya (comfort) in the rhythm, bhAva of the lyric intact. The singer is truly outstanding in clarity and hemming closely to the original (more than many well-known classical musicians). The arrangement is fantastic, in my humble view. Job well done!

Very Nice! Just for a quick note on the song: "Brova Bharama, Raghurama Bhuvanamella neevai nannuokani" - O RahuRama! Whilst YOU ARE( neevai) the whole of this earth (Bhuvanamella), is it really heavy (Bharama) on you to come to my (nannu okanni - JUST ONE) rescue (Brova - shower grace) ? Thyagaraja has sung this in despair and agony out of a long wait to see his eternal master! And what is it that is stopping Him from showering grace by His august presence? He goes on asking - Have you not lifted a complete mountain for Gopikaas? The tone of this keerthana should be more of a pleading (Brova Bharama?) tone with tinge of despair and want of the divine's presence. It is definitely awesome with all the fusion music and the voice of the singer but the essence of the composer's heart is missing here.

🪷 Translation: బ్రోవ or బ్రోచే comes from ప్రోచు. It means: nourish, nurture, care for... In a self-reflective mood, the word can also mean save, unchain emancipate, liberate. 🌺 O Raghurama, why is it a burden to you to nurture/liberate me? (I mean), you are the entire universe per se, and so why is it a burden for you to liberate a solitary soul like me? 🍃 O Sri Vasudeva, didn’t you retain the entire cosmic manifestation in your belly ? So, why is it a burden, O Raghurama? (~Aren’t you that Hiranyagarbha, the source for the creation of this universe?) 🍃 Out of pity, didn’t you lift mountains once for the Devas in the ocean, and again for the 'Gopis'? So, O Ocean of Mercy, O Raghurama, why is it a burden to liberate Tyagaraja? (~Tyagaraja is reminding Rama that He is Sri Kurma who held Mount Mandara in place, and He is Sri Krishna who lifted Mount Govardhan in Vraj.)

Where is the 'Raghu Raama' ? Gone with the wind. Please pay respect to the composer and his lyrics. How do we sing, 'gOpi kalakai koNDa letta lEdA karuNAkara tyAgarAjuni'. One should learn the language of the Kriti, its meaning and then attempt to sing. Not to dance to Jazz beats. Keep the purity of Carnatic Music as it is.

very good rendition and interludes, dude. Make sure you pronounce the lyrics correctly. Don't pronounce 'Gopikaala' (of course many are pronouncing it the same way which sounds odd as per the language) it is just 'gopikala', Don't pronounce 'aadhigaaka', it is 'adhigaaka('not just that'/'apart from that'), Don't pronounce Kondaledha laidha' it is 'kondalettha ledha' (didn't you lift up a mountain for (to protect) Gopikas!?), As far as I heard of him lifting up only one mountain and not many, if so, it should be 'Kondanettha ledha' :D Not sure what the original word in that line of the lyrics! I kept listening this song of yours from yesterday. You have a very clear voice and sounding nice! I could even learn from your clear diction. Keep it up! Thanks for the upload
