After MS Amma's PAKKALA NILABADI, the rendition by SHWETA MOHAN Ji is simply Divine. In K. Vishwanath Garu's movie SHANKARABHARANAM, Shankara Shastry says the famous dialogue - "Music is Divine whether Western or Indian". PAKKALA NILABADI although has been rendered with Western Rhythm and beats but it does not take away the beauty and divinity of the Thyagaraja Kirthana. This is the Greatness of Bharatiya Classical Music.

I'm from Hyderabad. I don't understand the languages that this awesome lady sings in . WOW JUST AMZING AND FLAWLESS. Addicted for all the tracks of swetha n Bennett band in together. I now start n end my day with these tracks of Bennett & co with swetha. Look at the way she enjoys her each song just treat to watch her then singing alongside with herself playing instrument it's an treat for the eyes. I wish I can come down to ur place Kerala or Tamilnadu so as to take a pic or autograph. God has given u splendid voice. Wow swetha never ever seen a singer sing so so gracefully . She sang few beautiful songs in Telugu just speechless . On top of that the album of srastha and thrahimam 2 wow what can I say swetha? Btw look at the way she's dressed so so so neat n simple and related accessories and a touch make up that's it. Watched all your related videos in KZbin. I'm not knowing how to praise you. Indian Musical Heritage will not die if it graciously accepts it needs to remain musically appealing and sustain the livelihood of great artists as they need to find patrons to keep their aspirations alive. Carnatic music will not suffer if we introduce better sound without disturbing the purity of classical elements. Shweta is an incredibly sweet singer with classical repertoire and a trained voice that never ceases to amaze. Purists are hard to please and will find ways to prove that they know more about classical nuances. Improvisation is the way forward to engage the creative expressions that induce sonic pleasure while retaining the devotion and the fervour of a pure tapasvin margi gayak. Shweta you are a great human, a true inspiration and the band is immensely talented and it reflects delightfully. keep sharing more of such improvisations.

There is no wrong in improvisation or adding western instruments. Point is certain instruments work very well with Carnatic and certain don't. Instruments like Violin and even guitar can work perfectly but rock drums and keyboard not as much due to straight tones and lack of gamakas. It's a different vibe totally. It's important to know what matches and what doesn't.
