Hundreds died using kratom in Florida. It was touted as safe. As companies sell increasingly potent products, a Tampa Bay Times investigation reveals the herb’s toll. Read the full investigation: tampabay.com/deadly-dose/

Only 6 or 8 deaths were specifically isolated to Kratom. How about reporting about those of us grieving this holiday as a result of another deadly scam re pharma during Covid? Then you would earn trust. You were paid to promote the injection & I have a family member whom fell for the unceasing “get vaccinated” in spite of the first two finding her weekly in ER unable to breathe. rHospitals threw out the ethics handbook & became robots utilizing ONLY designated protocols. Kratom just needs quality regulation as do all drugs. Too many of us learned the hard way that one does not need Pharma for very much. Problem is we’ve dumbed down our population in the schools et al

Kratom is an ancient medicinal tea and it's not to be used irresponsibly.

Yep. I’ve used it. This seems like a deflection to pharmaceutical harms.

This says nothing about this being Kratom only. Until that's established, you can assume it was at best an exacerbating factor. At best. I would love to know how much he took, it would have to be a toxic level into the hundreds of grams at once. You could also die from Tylenol if you take too much.
@Noelbluesky11 ай бұрын
The title says 'kratom only overdose', which I find very hard to believe. Unless one is coughing and aspirating at the same time. If one takes too much, they promptly vomit it up. When they do toxicology screens, they never include alcohol, or prescription anti depression drugs, over the counter, etc. So this report is suspect. Big Pharma, certainly will stop at nothing to squelch the use of kratom, including false autopsy reports (unscrupulous ME's could be bought) since they are losing money to it. Do we need more research? Yes. Do we need kratom consumer protection laws that include standards for kratom product purity? YES.

All saying this was not Kratom, yes it was. I lost a loved one to it, and only it. All we are saying is to be cautious. We are all devastated over this and no, we are NOT suing. This is an unregulated substance. You can do it and it has a little, or too much. It should be regulated and labeled. I’m sure he never thought this could kill him. He would have laughed as the suggestion, like all of you. We never even heard of it.
@heatherintheskywithdiamondz2 ай бұрын
do you mind telling us how much your loved one took for it to be a fatal dose? these cases sounds suspicious to people who have used kratom because it is not an easy substance to get down. a fatal dose would be an extremely large amount of powder... anyone who willingly puts ounces of powder into their mouth has to know there is a deeper problem that needs to be addressed... (most likely addiction issues caused by untreated and possibly undiagnosed mental illness / childhood trauma)

@@heatherintheskywithdiamondz It was vaped. He was a vaper to begin with and as I said, I’m sure he never imagined it as dangerous. It is unregulated which means you could get a cartridge with nothing or too much. It is sold in all the vape shops. No he was not on drugs. He was in the military and was tested randomly and often. He just made a mistake due to no warning labels and no dosing instructions. To all who are saying it’s bs, why the fk would I ever imagine making something like this up? I never even heard of it. Like I said, do what you want just know it can be dangerous.

@@Sarah-zx2pn i’m sincerely sorry for your loss, truly. but do you actually believe anyone thinks vapes are safe? i think people know what they are doing. especially if they are choosing to ingest mind altering substances that won’t show up on certain drug tests. you’re talking to an ex addict. i know how the mind works…

@@Sarah-zx2pnall vapes have warning labels. no one actually thinks vapes are safe. i don’t think you are giving them enough credit. people know what they are doing. to choose to put a mind altering substance in the body that won’t show up on specific drug tests is addict behavior.

@mrdevindean18 ай бұрын
Well it wasn't. There is no evidence thus far that the kratom alone killed him. Don't think with your emotions. Every case thus far have only been people abusing other substances. And just as anyone who knows anything about how dangerous "speedballing" id say these people put themselves in danger by carelessly taking random drugs wit kratom just being one of the mix. Kratom has NEVER killed someone by itself. I challenge you to find proof that it has. ( You wont, because it hasn't.) This is exactly why these media outlets started using misleading titles like " kratom only" only for a quick google search into the story to show thats not likely.

@@heatherintheskywithdiamondz It can be vaped which is in concentrated form. You have no idea how much is in each cartridge. It is touted as good for depression, anxiety, pain, weight loss, etc. it’s billed as a miracle herb with no repercussions which is just not so. Since our tragedy, I’m honestly surprised at how many of these products are on the market with no dosage or warning labels. Not just Kratom. All I’m saying is know what you are consuming and what is safe. That is all.
