These numbers aren't accurate at all. For instance Finland has around 2200 brown bears, not 1600. Also Russian population can be anything in between 150 000-200 000. In Japan they live in Hokkaido island and population is around 4000-4500 bears. Some claim that closer to 10 000, but it can be error because in main island of Japan lives approximately 10 000 black bears. I also think, that Canada has more than USA, because in the USA brown bears were hunted to extinction in lower 49, or practically to it, only little population around Yellowstone.

@@FBugle I also wonder how they do that 😅. It's just completely based on development and population density, and releif ofc, more mountainous area more bear, more mountains that are empty of human interaction more bear, and then ofc preservation plays the role too, so some countries like iran or serbia but with poorer conservation have less bear despite the mountains. Like for here, croatia, we have a lot of them for our size of the country, but if i told you that all our bears are on area that is maybe 1/4 of our country that has bear, only in central mountainous part, same with wolves, but our preservation is very good, they are protected for decades, will be a century soon, there are shelters and recovery areas and so on, i just watched some documentary, at least 20 years old about park rangers and foresters in those areas, they knew every bear, they fed them in winter, knew their burrows, even females with cubs came for the apples and corn when they had youngs but was early spring and still snow in the mountains, and they told stories of bears decades old and their predecessors that did that care before them. But those bears don't interract with people for the most time, they avoid people as much as possible, but they are cool with rangers because they spent many years among them.

I wrote 12K brown bears in that, because of non-populated (relatively) area, bears can get easily foods, saumons which return back from Okhotsk sea, during late summer ~ autum, just before their hibernation. This cycle gets easy their life on Hokkaidou. Bears immigrated to Hokkaidou during a glacy aera, when Soya channel (separates Hokkaidou from Skhalin, they did'nt come from Kamtchaka, but from Sakhalin) was narrow, maybe 500K years ago. One another way of thinking : many bears because there are no wolves in Hokkaidou, wolf and bear harmonize an ecolojical fauna. Native wolves extinguished Meiji times due to hydrophoby, originated from western dogs.

As a Turk, if you dont believe in this come and count them? What is your problem with Türkiye? Are you jealous of our bears too? Türkiye 783.356 km2, Romania 238,391 km2. Forest width in Turkey 216,781 km2 but Romania 69,610. Shut up your big mouth. And finally Europe is not a continent. This is a very huge geographical lie in the world history. Europe is West Asia. From Portugal to Japan there is only one continent: Asia! Yeah maybe you can have so many gipsies more than Türkiye. Dont forget this once upon a time Romania was a Turkish land. Kipchaks. And also Moldova, Ukraine, Russia. Do you know Szekely Turks? Do you know anTurkish tribe Onogur and Arpad the ancestors of Hungarian and Bulgarian?

I think the numbers are quite inacurate. For example ot says there are 170 bears in Georgia while they are quite common and there even is a shelter where you can leave your pet bear just like a dog. In my childhood hundreds of restaurants had bears to entertain guests and churches often had them as well, before it became forbidden by law.
