I just made this, it’s super yummy but some notes if you’re gunna make it: -don’t cook it too high or too long, essentially you’re making candy on the outside of the bread so when the brown sugar and butter burn it smells really reallllllllly bad (trust me) and burnt candy also tastes really bad! - DO NOT touch the bread while it’s hot!!!! So important (I currently have a blister on my thumb :(...) sugar gets extra hot when heated!! -you definitely don’t need that much butter or brown sugar for two pieces of bread it tastes just as good with less! -clean your pan right away! Burnt on candy is impossible to get off when it sets! But be carefully cause it’s soso hot Overall I would make it again (I would just be more careful lol)

You don’t need that much butter at all. Spreading a nice even amount of softened butter across the bread and sprinkling the sugar on bread evenly is usually enough. That’s how I make mine.

Slick Willy 😂 I’m fat and lazy. I just don’t understand why people would complain about something that is irrelevant to them. I mean, why would you come here to watch “brown sugar toast” if you’re so concerned about your health? And secondly, why do they care so much about what other people put in their bodies. It’s not like you’re going to the gym for them. 😂

@@Nai-09 you should try to be better. We should encourage eachother to be better. being fat is unhealthy and self-destructive. It's giving into hedonism and letting it rob you of the life you could have. Kinda like drug addiction. i do this and it’s so goooood! actually what i do is: melt butter in a pan, use the melted butter on two bread slices. take the bread slices, and make a banana and mozzarella sandwich (i know, it seems crazy, but trust me, it’s so good). then i cover the buttered sides of the sandwich with demerara sugar and some cinnamon and bring it back to the pan, so the cheese can melt and the sugar crust gets crispy. it’s delicious! if any of you test this recipe, please let me know.

Cool. My mum always made this every weekend in my childhood. But hers is less butter and sugar. If you want less butter and sugar but still tastes as good, here’s the recipe: Dip a slice of bread into beaten eggs. (Do not let it completely soak, enough to cover the bread in it). Then cover/sprinkle it in a layer of white sugar. Use a teaspoon of butter into a pan, let it melt and place the bread in the pan, cook until it looks brown and glazed on both sides. Adding more butter is optional, or if you missed some spots the butter didn’t get to. Take it out of the pan and place it on a plate, let it cool until the caramel/sugar hardened like shown in the video above. One large egg is enough for three bread slices dips. Use a teaspoon of butter for each bread slice. Happy eating xx *Hack (aka my modification): I cover the pan with a bit of grape-seed oil and mix it with 1 teaspoon of butter to easily cover the butter on the bread. This method prevents adding more butter to cover the bread because if you’re not an experienced cook it’s challenging to get the butter even on the bread without adding more. AND THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE COOKING PROCESS THE STOVE IS ON LOW HEAT.* Edit: put the beat eggs in a plate to easily dip the bread faced down.

I ended up making this. It is ridiculously sweet. I highly suggest only coating one side and using thick pieces of bread. Otherwise, it's like biting into a big piece of crystallized sugar. You can actually make this with, significantly, less butter than what they used in the video and lowering the flame so that you don't have to worry about burning sugar. You can also use the non coated side of the bread to clean your pan. It shouldn't taste burnt with the lower flame. It tasted good with a cup of milk and a banana. Just saying. Edit: The snap was satisfying.
